Girl Gamer Explains: Why Crucible loot drops are RNG
Before I get started, I want to be clear that I'm NOT directly endorsing the design of PvP loot rewards, merely providing what I think is Bungie's logic and because it is CLEARLY a mechanic that's still bothering people. I honestly think they have PvP gear rewards totally random as a bit of a social experiment because what it does do (aside from piss people the -blam!- off) is:
1. Reward anyone, [i]regardless[/i] of skill level, for trying out PvP. Carrot meet stick...*nom nom nom*.
2. Attempt to eliminate tryhard multiplayer arguing over kill steals, KD reps, and all that dumb internet epeen measuring.
3. Attempts to make the[i] focus[/i] of the [i]gameplay[/i] the most interesting thing about the experience. Not just a [u]means to a reward.[/u]
This is why the dude that went 2 / 25 will get a shiny Exotic despite your dominant 30 / 10 massacre. Winning is rewarded via Marks and Rep, NOT loot drops in the current system.

Your points are completely valid. Absolutely no argument from me. I understand how the loot system works. Doesn't mean I agree with it. With that said, you think in particular that the person who held your team down and had to be carried has an equal right to an Exotic if one was to drop?

I agree with what your saying, when I started out in pvp I sucked hard and once I got good I could top leader boards ect, though my game scores seem to still be erratic at times getting rewards kept me playing while I learnt the trade. Iron banner in its current form is what good pvp players should be happy about, even though rewards are earned over time by those who struggle, it's nice to have some unique gear akin to the raiders to show your prowess in your favourite field, rng aside. I think if there's any irritation it's the fact that good players aren't rewarded according, maybe more rep should be rewarded or a higher drop rate according to your position, I don't know, people are always going to be angry. Why do so many of you care if she's a girl? Some of you are just embarrassing, grow up, people call themselves allsorts of obscene things in their gamer tag, and some of you getting into a state because someone identified themselves with a gender.

I dont care that you are a woman. Stating that fact is stupid and pointless. RNG loot for competitive play is boring and lazy. I went 26-0 in clash last night. Guess what I got, shit. I don't care who you are or what position you carry. You try going 26-0 and watch the bottom player get a legendary assault rifle... There is no damn way anyone with any competitive drive in their body would be ok with this.

I understand where you are coming from but you need to realized that this is a loot based game and loots are the central pivotal point balancing between fun/addictive and frustration. Yes getting first place and winning the match in Crucible nets you Crucible marks and reps, so does the guy feeding the opposing team(except that he got a huge bonus with exotic weapon) By changing the reward to skill based related is not the answer as well since this will only deter poor players to even try at all. A tweak/balancing to the to system rng must be done. Top players should have higher chances of earning items. It is really sucky to as i have topped a few matches before only to see i have NOTHING given to me but the rest of the team got rewards. This is not the way to do things.

Winning gives 20 rep and 3 marks. Losing gives 10 rep and 2 marks. Not much incentive to win.

At the end of the day the guy that went 2 and 24 and got the shiny exotic will still suck so I'm not bothered. If you want exotics, play PVE. 0 exotics from crucible to date. 5 exotics from bounties to date. Handful of exotics from Xur to date. Everything else from nightfalls, strike rewards, and raids. I am missing one hunter exotic helmet and a handful of exotic guns.

I mean, have you seen it? People get hurt when you try to high-five. Now, here's my theory; I strongly believe that the ability to raise your hand, aim it and actually hit the target hand is located on the Y chromosome.
