Before I get started, I want to be clear that I'm NOT directly endorsing the design of PvP loot rewards, merely providing what I think is Bungie's logic and because it is CLEARLY a mechanic that's still bothering people. I honestly think they have PvP gear rewards totally random as a bit of a social experiment because what it does do (aside from piss people the -blam!- off) is:
1. Reward anyone, regardless of skill level, for trying out PvP. Carrot meet stick...*nom nom nom*.
2. Attempt to eliminate tryhard multiplayer arguing over kill steals, KD reps, and all that dumb internet epeen measuring.
3. Attempts to make the focus of the gameplay the most interesting thing about the experience. Not just a means to a reward.
This is why the dude that went 2 / 25 will get a shiny Exotic despite your dominant 30 / 10 massacre. Winning is rewarded via Marks and Rep, NOT loot drops in the current system.
EDIT: I've been silent about a lot of the blatantly hostile misogyny and insults but trust that it's being reported. You ARE responsible for your actions and if you don't like this thread, you're not obligated to post in it. Insulting myself and others is a flagrant violation of the user agreement and code of conduct for the site.

Why do you have to involve gender? How does any of this post relate to gender? NO one cares if your a girl or guy or fish playing this game.
-
Sadly thats pretty much all these forums are. Insults and trolling and putting people down behind their "bully" wall to make themselves feel better.
-
But you are directly endorsing that fact that you are female.

Xbox One. Add me as a friend. Level 32 hunter. Level 32 Titan. Level 32 Warlock. Some good Swordholder on Crota. Gamertag: DOA Devil Cat.

Blatantly hostile words I dont understand what you're saying. But rng in crucible is because all you bad kids and grill gamers would quit at the start like you did in the first iron banner. After that you come crying on the forums about how pvp isn't fair and so they made it random.
okay im fine with crucible being random but not iron banner
-
I do wish there was a different game mode that rewarded skill i would probably play more often
-
-blam!-en lottery man its fun
-
No it should some what be based on performance ex if you got last place you have a normal chance of an exotic drop(100% of normal chance) if you get second place that number should go up to 150% and first place equals 200% chance.its a win win.scrubs can still get the undeserved exotics they bitch about and good players have a higher chance.if you suck at crucible it won't hurt your chances, but if your good you double you chances
-
I think I'm one of the few who likes RNG it's an addictive system and it keeps me playing. Just as I feel like I've had enough RNGesus comes along with an awesome drop and changes the game for me once again.
-
People have been playing fps's competitively for a long while now. If Destiny only rewarded doing good some players would have zero, absolute zero, chance of getting something good from crucible ever. Simply because people have these skills from years of practice and no one is gonna just jump on destiny and start owning. Levels the reward playing field cause the reward is what keeps em coming back. No fun for people who are great at a useless life skill though.
-
And RNG Is for noobs let them have it.
-
But look how many people responded. She didny even have to be clever or was she? Got attention anyway. Lol. Not sure if im the first but grats.
-
Idgaf if I'm dropping constant 30/40 bombs with 8/9k score a game I should be getting something. Why reward the butt plug detriment who went 11-30 with less than 2k score.

Edited by ItsTimeToSignOut: 11/23/2014 6:12:38 PM*Tips fedora* You're actually a guy lmfao. Looked up up
blatantly hostile misogyny
Talk about a double standard, you can leave now.
If a guy does it, its demeaning in women's eyes, and is sexist, making the female role insignificant. If a woman does it, its empowering and an expression of their rights. Watch. -NavrosOL
What misogyny? If you're referring to everyone asking why you put girl in the title, that's a damn question, not gender oppression.
-
Reported for profanity.
-
Hello (: I agree
-
Girl Gamer Explains
*Sigh* You brought this on yourself
-
What impelled you to list in the title the fact that you are a girl?
-
I remember when gender wasn't being used by "legit gamers"... Nowadays its a trend to actually tell what gender you are to catch some attention, a little like here and there to make you happy... It's a new generation of gamers...
-
ummm what was the point of announcing that your a girl? it has nothing to do with your post, do u wwant attention of something?
guy gamer, give me attention
-
1: Mostly nobody here gives a single shred of a -blam!- that you're a girl. That means nothing. Also, that's not misogyny. You don't know what misogyny is if you think saying that is. 2: That's no excuse. Making endgame items mostly unobtainable other than pure luck is straight up bullshit.
-
Calling you out for your exploitation of gender is not misogyny.
-
Another girl gamer announcing she's a girl gamer
-
You're also responsible for the subject title of your post. There's a reason why you don't see anyone calling you out on your "Girl Gamer" being banned. They've done nothing wrong. You pretty much invited the dogs in when you put that in your header. Something to think about the next time you post you're a girl. Not saying hide the fact, but I am saying be mindful of others otherwise, you're just going to have a repeat of this.

You the real MVP#
