You mean a game that was still in development turned out differently when it was released? OMFG...this is unfathomable. This is as bad as movies having scenes filmed that don't show up the theater but were in the commercial...and *gasp* director's cuts! Thanks for pointing this out, Theoryyy. You are the smartest and most on-point person on this forum. Where would we be, as a community, without you sharing this newfound knowledge on all of us. This is literally the greatest find to humanity since the lost popcorn kernel between my couch cushions of 2006!

  • Clearly you weren't around in late 2012 and early 2013 when the game was first announced. Pretty much a quarter of what was shown in the gameplay reveal made it into the final game. It's almost like the final product isn't even the same game as the one Bungie previewed.

  • 2 playable planets were cut, an entirely different story and gun development system. A character completely rewritten, not even reskinned, with a different voice actor. A safe haven in the reef completely gone. The loot system completely rehashed, which was done not far behind the release date. Whether it's DLC or not, they showed footage of it almost 2 years ago. I love this game so no need to defend bungie and leave hints of sarcastic butthurt in every sentence, but all of that content is gone while it was shown in Vidocs from EARLY 2013. Activision took over Blizzard. They had 12 million subscribers on WoW and dropped to about 7 million in the last 2 years. I really don't know what they were thinking signing with Activision. How much money do you honestly need?

So the game isn't worth $60? It's not like you bought it under a promise there would be at least six planets. Quite the opposite.

  • Quit labeling the game with a $60 price tag, that is not the point anyone is making.

  • If you're going to fuss about things being cut, I'm going to point out that this game still has twice as much value as most other games at the same price. The "label" is more than relevant.

  • People like me are waiting for that next game that is purly epic, aka Halo CE, Vanilla WoW. Destiny was suppose to be the next big thing. Having people put tons of hours into something is easy with a long enough stick and a carrot at the end.

  • I still think Destiny can be that. Keep in mind that the expectations were out of this world. No Man's Sky looks like a possibility to me, and I look forward to the next Elder Scrolls (ESO doesn't count).

  • 100 mil for this year alone, advertisement about 60 mil 20 mil on game 20 mil on paying for hours. Yep, lots of money to work with.

  • I'm not sure what you're point is. Yes, they had a ton of money to work with. There's no argument there. Does that necessarily mean it was properly budgeted and spent responsibly? Ask any school district. What is baffling is that you're not bright enough to assume that all the money in the world isn't going to make things work the way you want them to. Maybe you're just young and haven't learned that life lesson. It's much more probable that Bungie wasted a lot of that money or more of it was budgeted towards marketing/advertisement/Paul McCartney than we think. Or we can believe that they spend so many years on a few planets.

It's more about content already on the disk is being sold as if it's DLC. Also, Paul McCartney wasn't paid. He was trying to reach out to a different crowd. I don't understand why you're trying to patronize me. The point is all of that content they showed almost 2 years ago is either cut, or on the disk labeled "DLC".

  • You need sleep... Your sarcasm was not entertaining... The point of this post is not "Waaaaah destiny lied!!! Waaaah!!!!' All he is doing is pointing out that when looking at where they were when they began and where they ended up, they certainly seemed to take away from the things that made the game look great and built the hype. Instead going with a game that struggles to find its own Identity... Take a nap. Grouch.

  • The fact that you do not see that your response to me would have worked perfectly with what you posted originally is.. interesting. I don't act tough or smart online I prefer tonpoke and prod to see other superiority complexes arise.

  • I like to imagine you know things to. It makes me sleep better at night believing there's one less stupid person in the world. But I can't assume that, I guess ;)
