No, you hit level 30 with raid gear. not pvp gear. because pvp stats dont matter? a level 2 is a level 29 minus perks so why should a pvp player or a guy whom does not even play the raids or anything like that be rewarded the same why that myself is rewarded for completing the raid 3 times a week? guns great whatever. but level 30 means i beat the raid some people it takes a few weeks to get gear some it takes 1 week (my buddy omfg) or people are still trying motes of light are not hard enough to get to make them a game breaking currency

  • i was about to agree with this idea but you make a good point. guys that work the raid 3 times a week deserve the best gear. i guess the best solution would have to be a different form of level 30, raid 30 and standard 30 composed of upgraded non-raid gear. but the grind should be high to where it would be preferable to just do the raid instead of grinding to hit 30.

    If you only play PVP that's the players choice. But that shouldn't limit their content. Motes of light take longer to get than completing the raid. 50 motes for one piece of armor maxed out? That takes a while. The idea that level 30 is only meant for raids is ridiculous. And the fact that the only thing you can do in this game to progress is do the raid, over and over and over, cripples all the other content in it. When DLC comes out the only thing worth playing will be the raid. The strikes will be low level, the missions will too, so you're paying 20 bucks for one raid, to do it over and over again for the next set of armor. With this idea everything in the game is now playable and help you progress. It adds replay value to everything in the game. Not just the raid.

  • if all you want to do is play pvp then great, but this game was never about being the best pvp player ever. its about grinding for gear and levels and they said before the raid is their bread and butter and what destiny is really all about. so the raid is where its going to be, you will just have to step away from the crucible from time to time if you want to truly advance. if you want an awesome purely pvp experience, there are better games out there for that.

  • you're right it is the players choice. it was my choice to NOT play PVP i played PVE oh and im level 30... why do people feel like PVP is so important in this game.

    They are both important. What you just described isn't player freedom. "You can play crucible, but that gets you no where, and nothing useful. Do the raid to progress" is terrible game design. It limits everything else in the game to "do this, and only this".

  • Terrible game design go look at wow come back and tell me how they do it they've been around a while bud Pvp gear in wow is useless in the raid Pve is useless in pvp :) but maybe they didn't know what they were doing either

  • Really?? Because pvp gear seems to be exactly the same stat wise except with pvp power on it?? I've seen plenty of pvp geared do as well in pve or even better. Only place you'd notice it is a tank as pvp gear doesn't have tank stats (though that kinda is removed now) Anyway, why do you feel a pvp player should be held back for not doing pve? What if you could only get to 30 through having a 5.0 KD over say 100 games and pve max level was 29. Is that really fair? PvP players should be rewarded just as much as a pve player. I'm not talking about at the end where it randomly gives some type of loot out. But an additional loot chance based on your performance. If you kill 30 people in one life you have a chance for raid gear, or go the entire match without dying (and an extra like have minimum of 10 kills to stop someone hiding/afking it).

  • so. You're saying haha... that a guy playing CRUCIBLE should be then able to SKIP the grind of doing the NORMAL raid, and go right into HARD MODE because he killed me and little johnny with his effing fusion rifle? I don't know what planet you are on, but its adorable. Thank You.

  • Where in that post did I say skip the grind? I clearly said not to give them random loot for just doing a match but add some extra things for pvp to do in order to earn better gear. They could still have to grind. Kills with certain weapons could give currency and they need to collect 1000 then have a random roll for gear for example. Did you even read it all?

  • I'm a pver mainly on this game, hardly touched the pvp. What I'm saying is that you shouldn't be forced to do one aspect of a game for the top rewards (in this case gear/level). There should be some system in place where pve and pvp can both gain the gear for level 30, just through different means both just as difficult.

  • I get what you're saying I just feel like the end game is the raid boss not anything to do with pvp so the best rewards should be and are in the raid.

  • Agree with that. However certain pvp modes or events have levels enabled don't they? So that would mean the pvers could come into pvp at an advantage (maybe small) over the pvpers.
