He didn't lie, he clearly said "We hope to one day send you to" he was referring to the world geometry being generated and could be opened up into playable space. I normally don't defend Bungie when it comes to Destiny, but in this case you are misunderstanding what the presenter said.

but he said he could go there right now... implying we could too...
-
He was saying the geometry in place the area is usable at some point, he said we could go there now meaning it is land that could be walked on. That is why he threw the grenade, to demonstrate the area exists and isn't just some image. Sorry, I get what you are saying but you are misinterpreting what he said.
-
I appreciate your logic and comprehension. Sadly it will be met with harsh resistance and likely insults as well. Haters don't respond well to rationale.
-
He said you can go there now but we won't. I think you misunderstood.

No? You people defend this game too much.
-
lol look at my post history, I am a vocal complainer about what I think is wrong with Destiny. In this situation though I can't agree with the complaint.
-
He then said right after," we can go there now"
-
Edited by H0RSE: 10/20/2014 5:54:17 AMNo, he didn't say that, he said "we COULD go there right now," as in "it's possible, it's playable space, but it's not implemented yet," just like right before that he says, "all this is playable space, that we hope to one day get to send you to." - it was never promised.
-
Exactly, I can see how people took what he said wrong but he clearly was talking about the engine is in place to use that area at some point.
-
in hind sight that may seem obvious... but at the time that isn't what he implied.... why mention it at all in a demo where you are trying to show the meat of your game unless you are trying to highlight a selling point....like actually being able to go there.
-
It's self explanatory why he would bring it up - because they were hoping it would make it into the game. The sheer scope of what they were trying to do was the selling point.
-
do you realize how ridiculous that sounds... selling what they hope to do? ok so then I hope to make a cure for cancer give me your money, I probably wont come up with one but the sheer scope of what I am trying to do is the selling point.... so many humans are dumb as sheep....

Edited by H0RSE: 10/20/2014 9:41:21 PM
do you realize how ridiculous that sounds... selling what they hope to do?
Um, yeah...this isn't a radical concept. It's actually quite common in video games for devs to showcase the game and show a feature/mechanic and say something like, "we hope to have this in by launch." They weren't "selling" what they hope to accomplish, they were just showing what they hope to accomplish. The only thing Bungie are "guilty" of here, are not being 100% crystal clear with what their message/purpose was for what/why they showed what they did at that particular part of the demo.
so many humans are dumb as sheep....
Oh the irony...
-
There is no need to default to insulating because you misunderstood what the guy doing the demo said. Maybe just admit you were wrong, show some humility and bow out gracefully. Having a debate doesn't need to turn into name calling, that is childish and really automatically makes you lose the argument regardless of your viewpoint.
-
lol you're such a troll.... I hope...
-
troll or not, he's still right...
-
no he isn't....
-
I am not going to get dragged down to his level, once the name calling starts I realize that my point has already won. If there was a valid argument against it, the person wouldn't have needed to start throwing mud as a last resort.
-
im not calling you a name... I am describing your behavior... your a troll... or at least I hope you are, because if you believe the stuff you're typing then you're an idiot... and again it isn't name calling if you actually are one.

This, so much this!

This all day long. I've said it on many posts myself.
