Destiny playerbase to drop sharply in the next month
Sometimes I wonder why I'm still playing this game; stuck in the "Skinner box" feedback loop I guess. I think that will change soon, and Bungie's amazing metrics from September and October will look very average at best. Why? Competition. Destiny your competition is almost here and they do what you do, better. Call of Duty: more maps, more modes, and more story (shockingly). Far Cry: Waaaay more varied PvE, actual characters who have, you know, names and motivations, and risk-taking gameplay (fighting on/with animals). Bungie your December DLC had better be LOADED with content if you expect this game to last past Q2 2015. It is no longer fun for me to run the same story missions, strikes, raid, and PvP maps that I already have 100 times before. New planet, new patrol area, or no more of my money. Players, let your dollars speak; it is the only thing Bungie and Activision will hear.

1 Replyoh well their stats was what 3MM players 2-3h everyday? It seems like everybody is just doing their bounties and log off, I guess most of those people have already what they wanted so there is no incentives for them to grind more so yeah I guess the numbers will drop dramatically over the next month if there is nothing more. I wouldnt count on a new planet in the DLC.

I like this game quite a bit and There is definitely some validity to what you're saying. I was focused on DA2 and completely forgot about the next Far Cry game as FC3 was very, very good. If the next batch of content is good FC4 will have to wait. DA Inquisition though...that is what I want, a great story.

yep, at least for me. if they fix the connection issues (animal error codes) every 5 - 10 minutes I get on, it will be fine for me to continue to play. I have already seen some of my friends playing other games, like borderline 2: The Pre-Sequel. They will be even more games coming out like you said in November and December rolls around. I like this game, but it does has it flaws, but what game doesn't. I really don't know if I'll still be playing this in that time or not, but I will be playing, just not as much.

bungie is ruining the game period. game is hard as it is making it impossible doesnt mean it will be more fun. dont ruin the game cuz of complaining little girls keep the game how it is and rebuff guns and for godsake stop nerfing if items are hard to get its worth the damage. if your crying cuz the crucible spend more hours and get ur skills up if you put this patch out bungie goodbye from a lot of players who are fed up with this moronic changes. games are made to have fun not stress out to just beat a little part of it

5 RepliesI'm glad CoD will take some of the players away, have you ever thought about why everything is being nerfed? Its BC 75-80% of crucible players are from cod that got tired of Ghost and CoD kids think everything that kills them is OP and needs nerfed. Sorry but I got my Vex the other night in the raid on Hard mode and I deserve it and I deserve to be able to mop the floor with you while using my Vex. Btm line server pop drop is good, gets rid of the weads that are just using Destiny as a place holder game til Cod comes out.

Sorry I meant "expansions" Though I definitely won't be playing COD as I personally think it's a waste of money and I haven't enjoyed a COD game since MW2.

No. No dlc I agree there isn't much launch content so fix it not make us pay to have more-the idea was for it to have new free stuff so the worlds expand not be played for.

They should have stuck with Microsoft and kept doing Halo. That was their thing. They shouldn't have tried to make a game that's a chaotic mess of what other companies do. Maybe if they wanted to go in a different direction they could have slowly introduced gameplay elements of Destiny into each new Halo. Now that I think of it the decision to start a new IP was completely pointless. Destiny has no story, so why even bother switching over to it? Why not introduce these new gameplay elements into Halo? A lot of them are similar enough to just be improvements over what the humans already had (Titan's Ward of Dawn is an improved bubble shield), and others could have been "reverse engineered Forerunner technology integrated into the Mjolnir system". Instead they decided to bite off more than they could chew and had to resort to lying to their fanbase to hide the fact that the best they managed to do was create Grindfest 2014

New games are coming out next month. So what? Why do ppl have to play only one game at a time. I will be getting far cry, dragon age and Halo MCC AND I will still be playing Destiny. Ppl can play more than one game at once, you know.

I still play destiny quite a lot, and I don't think I'll stop playing it just yet we will have to see what this December dlc is like. But yeah destiny Is going in storage for November to many titles that will blow destiny away :D

I'm astonished at how many people expected the starting product to be comparable to already established, 10 year old MMOs. Destiny is an investment. Don't get mad because it's starting off rocky. If you know and love Bungie (like every Halo fan does), then give them a fighting chance.

Yup, I have to agree. Dragon age is almost out and I want to love this game more but I feel like that's not going to happen unless things change. And for God's sake make matching making for raids!!!!

2 RepliesYou do realize that they know other games are coming soon and are not going to just release the dlc earlier just because you think they should.. so this post was moot and pointless. You dont control when or how much content they have to give you. You only control if you play or not and that is all. You dont really have any other control over them, and threats mean very little to them for they have been around long enough to see threats like this and what happens afterwards.

The game is already expected to be the biggest under selling Call of Duty since Black Ops 2. This game just on pre orders alone, is under they're quota by 5 million copies. That's the exact number of copies sold in the first week for Destiny. Don't put all of your cards down on that game. If the stats stay true, Advanced Warfare will be the worst selling Call of Duty in the history of Call of Duty.
