So you reckon everyone should be a Bladedancer hunter with a Mythoclast, or cower in fear trying to avoid the outright superior classes/abilities/weapons? You may as well tell someone with depression that they can either keep being depressed or just kill themselves, instead of properly addressing the problems at their source. Everyone having to use the the same thing to be the same power level is total crap, and regardless of what you think, using one weapon/class or being less powerful forever are not "OPTIONS", its the making of a bad game. Balance is a good thing in a game like this. Auto rifles, revolvers, scout rifles, shotguns should all have their niche to give players gameplay choices. People who spend more time on the game should have MORE CHOICES, so they can optimise for their own playstyle better than others, but they should not be outright more powerful. Also, I have no objection to people being more powerful because they can maximise their abilities better than others, because that means that they are BETTER PLAYERS... But having access to abilities that are full on better than others just because you chose one class is not fair on anyone who wants class variety, even according to your own, play more->better stuff logic, since class choice takes 0 gametime/effort.

Your logic is out of place... Seriously... Rethink what you just posted? Why is a humans life relatable to a game stupid retard... And i actually agree to this... This game is not halo not call of duty... I definitely don't give a flying F, if the game was balanced or not... Just because you read articles over articles about halo, having a balanced system... Games were not meant to have balance in it, specially a grinding game, this game is just not all about PvP... You're too selfish to realize this is for everyone, it doesn't cater for your preferences... Stop bring the equality/balance bullshit here... "Balance is a good thing"-no its not, tell me this if life is so balance, are you successful in life, are you rich, are you attractive, are you happy? Diversity/differencss in game is productive, it shows gaps in differences between armors, weapons, skills and user itself... Like me and you, your mind is brainwashed by the forum trolls, while i've been a hardcore gamer since the age of 4... Edit: the typo doesn't relate to your retarded comparison of life and this game...

    1. Your. Not you're. 'My are logic' is not out of place. Yours is seemingly non-existent. 2. The ANALOGY of a depressed person is relatable to the game. Since you obviously can't understand what an analogy is, the point of mine was that there isn't a real choice, if the only two options are be overpowered or get dominated, ie be depressed or kill yourself. They are not real options. 3. I don't have to read articles to know that Halo was successful because it was balanced, it's plainly obvious to anyone who played the game. The PvP side of the game, which is advertised by Bungie as balanced, needs to be so in order to maintain any kind of longevity for players who like PvP, otherwise the game will end up stale, with players only using one weapon and one class. 4. I don't think the game has to be balanced in PvE, I agree with the Mythoclast buff in PvE increasing its attack rating, and I think any weapon that takes a lot of time and effort to get should be better than other weapons IN PVE ONLY. You yourself seem too selfish to realise that the game can be balanced separately, and that just because things should be good in PvE does not mean they have to be overpowered in PvP. 5. I specifically say "balance is a good thing, IN THIS GAME". Regardless, in life, balance is a good thing, whereas you seem to just be arguing that balance doesn't exist. Irrelevant again. Again, not related to the game in the slightest. You also fail to realise that I want diversity in this game. I want people to be able to choose any weapon and be successful in PvP, while still being able to work for good weapons that are overpowered in PvE. If you still think your solution offers 'diversity', refer to point 2 again. Diversity is being able to choose anything and be successful, IN PVP ONLY. Some guns should be good in close range, some in mid range and some in long range. Some guns should be better for people with good aim(handcannons), and some better for people who can't aim (auto rifles). THIS IS DIVERSITY. NOT PICK MYTHOCLAST OR LOSE. THAT IS NOT CHOICE. If you even reply, try to say something with an actual reason, instead of just 'this game isn't Cod or Halo, it should be horribly unbalanced'.

I hope to have time today to come back and give you a fair rebuttal but here's a quick response to your argument. Comparing it to depression makes no sense, and yes I know what an analogy is; but to compare a mental illness and suicide to how you feel about weapons in a video game is silly. I know you were trying to get a knee jerk reaction but it also needs to make sense... Oh, and Halo was far from "balanced", few weapons throughout the series reigned supreme. You don't need equality to have a great PvP shooter.

Not a knee jerk reaction, like I said, the point is, there is the illusion of choice in both situations but there isn't really a choice in either, the real solution is to fix the problem, so the analogy is valid.

  • It's not though, I'll play your analogy. With destiny - you can keep playing and get better, or keep playing and stay the same, or quit playing. Depression - have it and get yourself out of it, stay depressed, or worsen your state and die. I still cannot bridge the two together in a constructive manner. I think you need to come up with a different analogy is all.

You're thinking too far into it though, I'm merely using it to show two situations where there is an illusion of choice, but both choices are terrible. I don't think it's a huge leap to see that from my perspective, telling me get overpowered stuff or get shat on is like saying to a depressed person kill yourself or stay depressed. I regret using the depressed analogy now since it brings in emotional baggage and other factors, but it was just what came to mind, and at the level I presented it at, it makes the point I want it to.

  • That's why it's not a good analogy, lol, too many ways to interpret it!

  • I'd say it's more it makes it not a perfect analogy, since I made a direct comparison that you chose to over interpret, but it's moot, I'll wait for your main response.
