I watched Achievement Hunter play through the raid without having to sit on the rock spires or throw the guy off the cliff or anything, and they're not exactly the best at video games. It may be more challenging, but certainly not impossible. Though I do agree that adding soft barriers because Bungie didn't like how people were beating the raid is kind of ridiculous. Fixing the ability to drop him off the map was completely understandable, but this is just silly. Edit: I didn't realize you said Hard mode, I'm not sure AH could even attempt that lol.

    Anybody can do this on hard mode legit, but what determines the success of the team are the portal jumpers. If Bungie screws with being able to send a DESIGNATED team of portal jumpers, hard mode on the Vault of Glass will be impossible. At least in my opinion. Outta my group of friends, only a handful of us(myself included) are designated relic holders. The rest of my buddies are oracle and praetorian destroyers, and they either refuse or don't care to use the relic. I don't wanna have to get a group of total strangers that all know how to use the relic to to have an extremly small chance to beat Atheon on hard.

  • I can see that, I hadn't realized they were changing the teleportation to completely random instead of just a random 3 if too many people were on the pad. Though I think its still doable, you'd just have to have your whole team prepared to be taken away into the zone and each person ready to grab the relic if they're taken in.

    Well normally the two classes that can handle the relic with less chance of death are Hunters and Warlocks. Hunters for their jump and blink jump ability, Warlocks for their ability to self resurrect if they go down, and their catapult hover to launch 'em further and faster. Titans, eh they can take slightly more of a beating, but their jetpack ability is slow, even with catapult hover, for mobility to avoid getting shot at or melee killed in the portals. However I agree that anyone can handle the relic, but forcing certain players that are say designated medics or destroyers to having to switch roles suddenly for the sake of RNG? No, I don't agree with that. If Bungie had true gamers amongst their crew, this subject wouldn't of even touched the table for discussion. Now it's being heavily protested, what does that tell you about how Bungie is doing?

  • I agree that Bungie doesn't really seem to know what they're doing with Destiny. People were complaining that the PvE was too boring and not challenging enough, so they made the one thing people really enjoyed even more challenging and left the rest of the game dull and boring. I haven't even played the raid yet since I can never find a group to do it with. I've started soloing high level strikes for some feel of challenge, but even then its more like its just time consuming than anything since hard just turns everything into a bullet sponge.
