Okay, am I missing something here, I have not seen any aim assist in this game. How is it supposed to work? Does it follow targets automatically when scoped? Or does it only do it from hip to scoping? Do I need to let go of the right stick for it to work? How? I am absolutely not seeing it! I've tested it since I found out the game is supposed to have aim assist but I see no proof of it whatsoever. Although it does explain why my enemies in the Crucible can hit me in the head while both of us are flying about and/or moving a lot...

  • I kinda see it when I play vault of glass Atheon second phase when the supplicants come my Atheon epilogue auto rifle kinda follows them like the pike when it used the left and right ability

  • Warlock here and I've never seen it take me off a target. I've seen it pull my sights towards an enemy and that was literally one time. Other than that I don't notice it ever. Especially not in the crucible

  • It is only noticeable/intrusive when you are aiming at one target and a second target moves across your aimer, taking your sight with it. This leaves your first target with partial health and time to escape or you end up shooting two targets for partial damage while they both kill you. It is better to kill the first one you aimed at. It happens from hip and while zoomed in. I think you may be over estimating the severity if the assist and thats why you havent noticed it. Its just enough to pull your aim away from your desired target if a second crosses your aimer.

Honestly, I have never seen that happen! I tried it, went to the Cosmodrome, had a bunch of Fallen walking about, aimed at one, another walked past and in front, sight stayed put, tried different guns too. Is it a class specific thing? A gun specific thing? Distance? What? Can someone make a video where it can clearly be seen?

  • I cant make a video and its not exactly hotly debated. I've had it happen point blank when a dreg jumped past me, long range with a scope, and even with rockets while trying to aim past harpies on VoG. I'm a Titan primarily. I'd say it is most noticeable in pvp because it gets you killed.

  • Titan too here and still have never seen it happen with any gun. And why can't you make a video? Doesn't it record automatically and then upload to Facebook or somesuch? Ah well

  • PS3. There is aim assist across all classes. Try finding an enemy that is holding still and walk left to right while your aimer is on its chest. Do not turn. It follows that target. Now, when another target passes between you, it track THAT target even if you don't want it to.
