Make strike and raid matchmaking optional. Include it as a possibility for nightfall and heroic strikes, as well as the Vault of Glass. But also give players who don't want it the option to turn it off. Rotate or randomize non-Xur stock. Slightly improve drop rates of non-green engrams or release gear (like a class item) that improve drop rates. This I believe would help to stem stagnation. Keep PvP balances out of PvE. I hated the Vex M in PvP but I still feel bad for those who worked so hard to get it. Don't release special event bounties on the first two days of an event that require players to equip emblems, class items, etc. Remove or decrease delay between bursts for pulse rifles. Their standard recoil alone would balance this. Remove some intentional and frequent line of sight barriers from PvP to make hand cannons, pulse, scout, and sniper rifles a more functional option, as well as making headshot bounties more reasonable. This would also encourage players to use close quarters weapons as they were intended, and the original functionality could be returned to shotguns and auto rifles. Create a secondary weapon slot for quick, in-game weapon swapping without having to open the menu. Do something similar for ammo refills as well (for example, you could hold the reload button for three seconds, or hold it and a mini menu pops up for weapon and ammo selection). This one is a bit out there, but consider an arcade-style (think Warhawk (PS3) or Battlefront 2) dogfighting game mode with progression and upgradeable ships.

  • Ah, Star Wars Battlefront 2. I still bust out my old PS2 for a few hours of instant action every once in a while. Too bad offline gaming is dead. At any rate, I would totally play a dogfighting gamemode, especially since the only other gamemodes are copied and pasted out of every other shooter ever. This would be a good way to add reprieve for all the people irritated by bladedancer/shotgun/blinkers and the Vex Mythoclast (of course I'm not so naïve as to believe that this won't add it's own set of abuses). Plus, if they could find a way to put it into the campaign, that'd boost the replay value (for me) by a couple years at least. Especially if all the different ships had upgradeable loadouts and such. It bothers me that the starship is nothing more than a vanity item even though the Ghost puts so much emphasis on finding and maintaining one, as does Amanda Holliday in her patrol missions. As long as we're on vehicles, I feel like the Sparrows don't have much purpose. Maybe add a race gamemode? Mars' sweeping deserts would be perfect for this, and if they added a few new Earth locations, that'd just be cool in general. Sparrows also lack variety, they should add some new models that don't all look the same, with some meaningful stat differences. Definitely give them some unique abilities, like maybe a jump ability, or a Light vortex that gets created while boosting that sucks people closer and makes rams harder to dodge, and obviously some forward-firing cannons would be nice. I could see those being abused in multiplayer, but maybe they could replace the boost ability? Although Sparrows are pretty weak; two melees and they're history. A few should be made that are a little more tank-like, at the cost of speed and agility, they could make some that provide a little more cover for riders. Hey! Maybe shaders could extend to your ride? That way, they'd always match your armor. That'd be so cool, I would ride my Sparrow all the time! Polar Oak!
