The problems now with Destiny mirrors other problemed titles.

tl;dr;d: If you can't be assed to read something longer than three sentences, you're a lazy moron. I loved Destiny. I really did. I have played this game for so many damn hours and have loved every moment, except the forced shitty PvP instances. However, this newest "nerf first, worry about glitches and buffs whenever" is troublesome. Bungie seems very quick to nerf anything and everything immediately, but not address the core problems. First we had the "loot cave", and rather than immediately address the problem which caused people to farm the loot cave, they patch it out then waited two weeks to fix the engrams. Now we have a small, screaming minority ruining the core game for the majority of the players. Rather than fix the problem of the other weapons not being good enough, they decided to just make the good weapons worse. This all mirrors the problems Activision has caused in other games, most specifically Blizzard's Diablo 3. Some of the main people involved with Diablo 2 and making it so good left, which didn't end well for Diablo 3. People hated the lack luster story of Diablo 3. The main writer for Destiny left, which didn't end well for Destiny. Blizzard nerfed the hell out of farmable locations with Loot Golblins to keep people from getting gear. Bungie has nerfed the hell out of any farmable locations to keep people from getting gear. Blizzard nerfed the ever living hell out of the class skills instead of making other skills better to make a different build viable. Bungie nerfed the ever living shit out of the good weapons instead of making other weapons better to make them usable. Bungie is also talking about "class rebalancing", which means hunters are goin g to get nerfed to nothing and will be completely useless in PvE given their mentaility. It took Blizzard over a year to fix the problems with Diablo 3 (on the PC) to make the game enjoyable and bring people back. They fixed the loot system and added in a better story with the Reaper of Souls expansion pack. Reaper of Souls brought people back in droves to D3 and made it good. I don't want to wait over a year for Bungie to pull their head from their ass and make the game back to being enjoyable. Want to balance PvP? Fine, then balance it, but leave the core game and the majority of the players alone. Shouldn't the point of crucible variants be to make you better in crucible? Right now, those items are pretty pointless. There should be PvP gear and PvE gear. Don't let us take our PvE gear into cruicible, then. Make it so we have base weapons that we have to improve with in cruicible. Make Iron Banner the one event we can take over powered PvE gear into. At least make PvP and PvE balancing separate. Bungie, even with the limited knowledge of this game I had going into the beta, you didn't bill this as a PvP focused game. This was supposed to be an semi-open world PvE focused FPSRPG. Really...Diablo with guns is what you billed it as. The problem is, now, you have the cranial-rectum inversion mentaility which drove people away from D3 on initial release. You're pissing off your core audience, and that's never a good thing. Again, really, I loved this game..I did. I've sunk so many hours into it. I didn't even have this game on my radar until the beta and I ended up getting the Limited Edition. Now? Sadly, this game is going to be shelved until this is fixed. If it never is...then I'm sad to say my once favorite and most expensive game is just a $100 paper weight. I don't want it to be, though. If you're going to fix these issues which have the community so angry, don't take a week to respond to us, DeeJ. I know I speak for a large number of the base when I say we feel brushed off, ignored, and condescended to.

  • I agree with you. Many people were already dissapointed that the initial vision of the game as this mass open world FPS RPG with a deep story changed somewhat, but many people like myself still bought the game and hoped they would improve on the PVE aspect over time.. not ignore it or put it at a lower priority. If they now end up making this a PVP focused game with most of the patches and hotfixes destroying or totally changing the PVE balance with no regards - just to make PVP balanced - the game will move even further away from it's initial vision and promise. You are also on point in mentioning the fact that in PVE the main thing that was needed was to buff some of the more useless or less used weapons that didn't compare to make them more usable like certain pulse rifles, some scout rifles and certain exotics. I played lots of PVE and never at any point did I think any 1 weapon class was way too powerful or totally outclassed the others.. it was instead that a few weak weapons were just a waste of time against bullet sponge bosses.. they just needed slight buffs on those. The concern over future class balancing is real too... PVP and PVE are just way too different to try to make changes that affect them both equally.

    • Agreed. I know it's a different genera entirely, but I can take examples from league of legends which I've obsessed over since season 1. When they make champion or item updates, nerf or buff, they look at all the game modes, not just the popular 5v5 map. Everything is balanced and continuously looked on. Destiny being a brand new game was bound to have issues, and Bungie need to take ideas and advice from other companies on how to best update their game. A nerf or buff in pvp shouldn't always mean that it effects on pve and vice versa. Sadly a lot of the community loose to a weapon in pvp and decide it needs a nerf, I myself have been killed more by a fusion rifle than any other weapon, but I understand these take time to charge so when against an auto rifle it'd take the same amount if time for both players to get a kill. Yes nerf blade dancer for pvp, but leave it for pve, perhaps add how many times a blade dancer can attack while their special is active so that hunters have to use strategy instead of diving into a group and killing everything with no chance of being killed. I like many people love this game and I want to see it evolve, however if Bungie listen to the children who are going to move to the next game when it comes out, I fear for the future of the game, we all know a lot of the people complaining will move to CoD and then hopefully Destiny can expand and grow into the game we all want Peace and one love
