Some of you guys are reaching and also trying to validate this method It is an exploit. Gamers can get very creative. You found a hole in the game design, and you're using it to get to the loot. I won't get into right and wrong. But this is very similar to the loot cave. We all know Bungie didn't design the boss with the intent for people to end the fight by knocking him off the ledge. They will patch it at some point. He probably just won't get so close to the edges, or the physics of the nova bomb wont effect him the same way. But you taught them a lesson, and got one over. Take advantage while you can I know i wouldn't ever do it. I play for the fun of actually going through the fight. My gear loses it's value to me personally if I don't get it in the way they designed for me to get it. The push would just cheapen the experience for me. I took pride in my 6 hour run

If I can die falling why not him? Why should an enemy have an advantage I don't?

Thats poor logic. Enemies can also fire indefinitely without reload, they have one hit area of effect melee that kills you from full health, all their weapons have elemental effects, and they have like 10x as much health as you. I could go on It should be very clear to you that they don't have the same rules in game as you

Those are all specific to a class of enemy, falling and dying is specific to nothing, maybe get some lessons on what logic actually is before decrying others. It's logical that everything can fall to it's death, Atheon and ONLY Atheon defies that logic.

  • Ugh...... Youre being intentionally dense. If they intended for players and NPCs to follow the exact same rules, then they wouldn't be trying to patch it so he can't fall. The point in bringing any of the differences up in the first place was the other guy saying essentially, "Me and Aetheon are the same", when it's clearly not the case or intent

  • If you can't talk to me like an adult then I'm not going to continue this. All we are talking about is falling to your death, you're trying to bring all other kinds of pointless things in because you know I'm right. Falling and dying is based on the physical universe you are inhabiting, having baby bumpers that ONLY work for Atheon is essentially cheating. And is ONLY for him and nothing else, so logically that doesn't make sense. Try not to insult this time or I'll just mute you.

  • "Intentionally dense" is no more or less of an insult than you trying to define to me what logic is Youre not right. The games programmers define what is fair or not. You as a player are supposed to complete the challenges within the rules that they set If Bungie is clearly saying Aetheon isn't supposed to fall off the map as one of those rules, how can you make the argument that it should be possible? You are not the same as Aetheon, as pointed out by my examples, and this is a game about space magic and aliens so don't try and tell me about realism

  • Except you started it all with the poor logic insults. So what I said was perfectly justified as it was the opposite of poor logic. Where did I once say realism please quote that for me? I said the universe you are in dictate your physical laws, we are in the Destiny universe so those laws should apply to all creatures inhabiting it, putting baby bumpers in breaks those laws. They weren't there from the start and even if Bungie say they should have been makes my point no less valid, logically. Bungie have lied to us more than once you know. However, the ONLY thing this topic is about is Atheon falling, stop trying to drag other pointless things in because you know I'm right.

  • Here we go. Bungie lied. Lol. The universe is what Bungie defines it as. It isn't a static set of parameters defined by the players.

  • I hope you can agree the we can never be sure what the intent of the design is as when I first did the raid one thought that inatantly went through my mind was can I push atheon off the edge.(that thought comes up in every game I have played with a boss that has pits of death around him.) Honestly Im wouldnt be suprised that one of the devs was originally experimenting with the idea during development or even if during development it was intended but the design goals for the raid changed after the encounter was released. I highly doubt none at bungie thought to try and push him or the templar off the edge.
