Talk about eating up tons and tons of time. Give us a survival mode with escalating numbers/shields and random damage modifiers and this game gets a 1000 times better. Also make sure it is a mode that allows for 6 players! I would not even care if it was on the same map everytime. Deej if you have the ability to get ideas to the proper place this needs to get there and get there soon.

Add loot chest after a certain number of waves that give Spinmetal, Blooms, Iron, Helium.
Have mini bosses and epic bosses show up from time to time
Throw in objectives that have to be completed during a wave

At a certain point take away revives during waves, only allow revives if the wave is completed.

At a very high level take away supers

Hear hear! I could not agree more. For a "encouragingly multilayer game" I feel like I'm on my own for the majority of it. And I'm getting bored with that. Which is a shame as I really like the game. Please listen to folk Bungie. You said that you would.

How would the reward system work? Would it have a defined starting and endpoint, with rewards appearing intermittently, like ME3, or would it be more open-ended? How will revives be handled? Will it be like the daily heroics, the normal raid, or the hard raid? I mean, I don't think the 5 or 30 second counter would work as well. I like the idea of waves getting progressively harder with rewards provided after each wave. After the first run of the day, you're not guaranteed rewards for any wave you've already cleared. The earliest waves have a no revive timer, and work like daily heroics. A few waves later, it's like the normal raid, where you can be revived after 30 seconds. Not long after that, it's like the hard raid, and if anyone dies, they stay dead until the end of the wave they died on. Something like that. Others probably have better ideas. Bungie could probably think of good ways to make this fun. I like the idea, because they could repurpose existing PvP maps, requiring no new textures or graphical work. They'd just need to establish spawn points, set up a system to determine what the 'win' conditions for given waves are (usually just kill a certain number of guys), and create a new/repurpose an existing reward system. And test these things. Not super easy, but way easier than you'd expect for setting up a new game mode.

Always lurk but figured this was a thread I had to support and do my first post. Wonderful idea. Horde Mode is always my favourite mode in games (played ME3 for 6 months). Since this game already has such a large PVE community it already has the base. Patrolling is also starting to get a little boring so this would be an awesome way to kill time.

I agree it would be cool if they made a vanguard playlist that contains survival/defend modes and all you would need to do is make the game mode and rework pvp maps for pve use
