I've been leaving for the last two nights.
Rage quitting due to crazy lag. Give up for the night when I do.
A good 3 seconds lag.
Enemy Guardians teleporting around me.
No enemy on radar, then suddenly I get shotgunned out of nowhere when capturing a Control zone.
I stick an enemy with my grenade, die... grenade never explodes. Because I died before it registered and the grenade was never technically thrown.
Shooting half a clip into an enemies head, with no shield dropping and me suddenly dying.
The lag is so bad.... it feels like instead of connecting with other Aussies like I usually do, that I am connecting with players from different countries. As if the regional matchmaking has failed completely.
This has been happening since this latest patch to fix connection issues.
Before that, lag was never this bad and I would always stick it out even if I was alone vs 6.
Even went to pingtest.net to check my connection... 0% packet loss, 32ms ping with 2ms jitter. A grade connection.
Destiny is having some MAJOR issues and it's enough to make me want to stop playing for a month or so until they fix their shit. I'm really getting over it.

Jeez yes, so annoying.. My connection isn't that great but I'm 80% sure it's mostly destinys side and yeah I noticed it got a lot worse after that update.. I even get kicked just trying to go to the tower damn

I'm 100% sure it's mostly their side. Some players might have some slight issues due to their connections, but when literally every other online game, video streaming website or torrenting works without a hitch, that shows the problems are on Bungie. They should have delayed it by 6 months and bought themselves some time to make sure everything was perfect. As far as I remember, the Beta didn't have most of the problems we have now.

I never had a single connection issue that I can remember, other than during the stress test that they did. In saying that, maybe their servers are struggling to handle the capacity again.

The lag is horribad. Normally I find that when I get the kind of behavior your describe, I just fight through it. In about 5-10 minutes it gets better and clears up some. It seems to come and go.

Doesn't seem to for me. I stick it out for around 8 games with it happening from the first game to the last. If it was going away, I could deal with it for longer. Sometimes I get the odd player who seems to have god mode to me, moonwalks on place, takes a clip of ammo, a sticky grenade and a melee hit then teleports away and starts moving normally for a little bit after killing me. Some players, it feels like I have no lag but the other 4 or 5 enemies do. It's the weirdest thing I've seen regarding lag in any game.

I'm going to agree with that, seems as if bungie adjusted the lag compensation, got rid of region lock... Iron banner is playing terrible, noticing I'm getting paired with players on the other side of europe... When destiny first released the game ran smooth, I was playing with uk, Irish players, the crucible games ran great... 120mb download 10mb upload.

Yeah, it seems this latest patch to help connection issues has only made things worse. Far worse.

Sounds like my world. But I'm at 16mbps on wifi. It is awful.

I will say the inconsistency of the server connections has been pathetic. consistently, I have RTT between my client and google at around 5ms. During on Iron Banner game, it was getting around 15-20ms, which isnt too bad. However, on the very next game it went up to 200-250ms, on average. That is one poorly designed cloud cluster.
