Utterly disappointed.. Why are guardians leaving Iron Banner?
Played about 4 or 5 games of Iron Banner yesterday for my first experience and all of them were join in progress games. Why are people leaving? Only scumbags do that. Don't be a scumbag. I got completely owned in the join in progress games but still managed a positive K/D and I didn't leave. Why would you leave your team? You only care about yourselves? That's the one thing that really bothers me about multiplayer games. People will always leave you. Like why the hell would you play PvP in the first place if all you can manage is leaving your team behind? Guardian SCUM. There's no place for the likes of you in the Crucible or Iron Banner! Let alone the Tower! We fight for pride and glory! Guardians like you don't deserve to be called Guardians! Milk drinkers! Leave your mothers breasts!
EDIT 1: Last bit was a joke. Relax. A lot of people got butt hurt.

I have not yet played one session of Iron Banner. I'm not a big fan of PvP as I usually am only marginally successful in that mode. But from what I can see, there is not much point to it. The weapons and armor are all less than or equivalent to what I already have. Also you get nothing out of it unless you are on the winning team. From my perspective, not worth my time. If I really get the urge to go PvP, I'll just go into the Crucible since there I get some benefits win or lose, plus with leveling I have as much a chance to do well as anyone else.

2 Repliesif you don't win you don't get rep. if people see the game as unwinnable, they hit orbit and try again. not sure why though..if you already played most of the match might as well finish for crucible marks and scrap gear if nothing else.

Whole things busted. A lvl 13 is just as effective with his/her green weapons as a fully geared lvl29-30 player. No rep for losing. Matchmaking for IB puts u with people who don't want to win. Lag in IB is even more annoying than in Crucible. There is no difference in Iron Banner or Crucible. Puts u with players that capture objectives aimlessly.

Yesterday, I played about 10-15 in a row where either my team lost outright, or we'd be winning for the entirety of the match, and in the last few minutes-30 sec., the other team would pass us in points and win, giving me zero IB rep. At that point, my rage was through the roof, and quitting losing games was the only thing that kept me sane. If there was at least 5-10 Iron Banner rep points given to the losing team, there wouldn't be as much of a problem, or at least to the top players of the losing team, something. But there isn't. It's frustrating at times, so I can empathize.

People are leaving because there aren't any rewards for losing the match, therefore if it looks likely that their team is going to lose they quit and move on to the next match. You're right it does suck, but Bungie have left this wide open to abuse. There needs to be cool down penalty if you abandon a game. Having said that, with the servers the way they are at the moment hardly anyone is likely to complete a match without getting kicked anyway. So if they did implement a penalty no-one would be playing iron banner at all. Blame Bungie.

Same problem lost like 6 games in a row because of ppl bitch quitting the first couple minutes my only problem was the maps it just kept going to Mars I hope none of those type of players rank up

Literally just happened to me. Whole team quit and I was left to face a whole team. Two of there teammates also had vex mythoclass. So I was screwed. (Still love that gun though even if it kills me)

2 RepliesWhat if the guardian has a medical emergency? Like aids or Ebola and leaves the match to I don't know bleed or emit mucus? Is he a coward then? What if the guardian is playing the iron banner and hears a baby choking ? Should he abandon his fellow guardians or fight on? You are right ! A true guardian should die, controller in hand , soiled adult diaper smeared to his nethers and finally able to concentrate because that choking baby just got quiet. Jk! I can't hear a thousand choking babies when I'm rocking my turtle beaches!

I normally suck at the crucible, and in the past 5 games I played 2-3x better than in normal crucible. lol. Except that one match I joined where it threw me in a the last 50 seconds with only 2 dudes left on the team. (I guess many who were on the losing team left?) Sigh. I wouldn't really blame the people, I blame the reward system. Not getting banner rep for losing (even a small amount) is what's making people leave. However, we still get crucible rep, and the points still count for Juju bounty. So how is it any different than losing in the regular crucible? =/

At the very least, you still gain crucible rep & marks for a loss, plus a chance at gear. Even if the gear is crap, that's free gun/armor parts, yo. I'm ¾ to IB rank 2. I only play a few hours after work, a mix of pvp & pve. The bounties + wins = a good pace. Some of these players may have bad connections, but I've seen players on my team with their ghosts out, so I knew they were going to orbit.

I happened to be on a team where everyone except one other guy left. It was rather sad. Then with a minute twenty in the clock the game decided to drop new players into the game. I think overall people just find the Iron Banner a joke. I know I quit playing it after I noticed my rep meter quit moving after I leveled up passed level 1.

12 RepliesI've been leaving for the last two nights. Rage quitting due to crazy lag. Give up for the night when I do. A good 3 seconds lag. Enemy Guardians teleporting around me. No enemy on radar, then suddenly I get shotgunned out of nowhere when capturing a Control zone. I stick an enemy with my grenade, die... grenade never explodes. Because I died before it registered and the grenade was never technically thrown. Shooting half a clip into an enemies head, with no shield dropping and me suddenly dying. The lag is so bad.... it feels like instead of connecting with other Aussies like I usually do, that I am connecting with players from different countries. As if the regional matchmaking has failed completely. This has been happening since this latest patch to fix connection issues. Before that, lag was never this bad and I would always stick it out even if I was alone vs 6. Even went to pingtest.net to check my connection... 0% packet loss, 32ms ping with 2ms jitter. A grade connection. Destiny is having some MAJOR issues and it's enough to make me want to stop playing for a month or so until they fix their shit. I'm really getting over it.

Even then they could move to another game and lose then bail again. At which point its been a couple of games wasted whereas they could just stick out the original match and claw it back. Many times have my team fallen 2/3 even 4k behind yet we have clawed it back and won. Stick it out and be a team player. Edit: although the occasional rage quit is totally understandable haha.

3 RepliesI personally leave iron banner games bc there is no skill based matchmaking in place. I played about 20 games of iron banner yesterday and left 10 of the bc it felt as though I was playing with a bunch of people who never have played the game before. If there was skill based matchmaking, most of the time the games will be close, people won't leave. But as it is now, you get matched with people who don't know to go and capture a control point and who get 3 kills and die 20 times. People like me that like to go in solo kinda get fed up with it. Sooooo no rewards for losing, no skill based matchmaking, basically it's saying go in with a team or risk getting matched with people that have no thumbs. And when that happens, I'm out.

I have only left crucible once. I was doing the thorn bounty and as soon as I got that final 5 points I was outta their (beginning of the match too) that bounty was super painful and I'm never doing it again.
