Iron Banner complete let down?

So excited as I was going from MVP carry from skirmish and Number 1 in most Rumble matches, I took it to the streets with Iron Banner... Whoa, wth happened... How do I get two shoted by an auto rifle? One hit melee, thats a thing? going negative every match? Being level 27 with above average gear I was hoping to fair against even the 28's-29's, but I would understand if a 30 did the above. So heres the question then, for those like myself, who cannot be really good at Iron Banner, what do WE gain from this event? If you say you can still get Iron Banner from grinding matches and hoping to get carried, that's pretty RNG (Random number generated) and on top of that I have university and life to attend to. Thus another question comes into play, those with external duties from destiny, how would WE be able to gain anything from these limited time events? Further on the questions start pointing very crudely at Bungie, or Activision whom ever you wish to blame. The blame of creating a very tedious grinding game just to get ONE piece of gear, or even a skin, shader or anything of the aesthetic kind. Back to Iron Banner, your thoughts, please enlighten me as to the system behind it, do you think its fair that the level difference has a huge impact on your damage and defense? Have you been truly enjoying these matches, as a person from a lower level, lets say 20-27? Does the developing joint operation putting on a good appearance for future games? Side note relating to the last question: As per leak of Destiny's development, I was excited and, yes hopped on the hype train; however, I then played beta, so any excessive hype was cancelled by what beta provided. Iron Banner was way better in the beta than it is now, but that could be because the level cap was WAY easier to achieve than today. Continuing on, ever since actual release of Destiny, my thoughts of this game, this amazing game, slowly depleted into a single question, why am I playing this game? Is it because of how many MMO's that I have come accustom to grinding in that I dont mind a small visit to the game and grind for a while then take a couple days break. Its very possible but with this assumption that boils this game to a mediocre quality game. Keeping in mind that I havent even laid a finger on the story side of things, that is a whole different problem, that some how Bungie seems to think that DLC should cover. My point being, the tedious commitment this game requires in order to receive limited time items from these limited time events is very unfair for those that have other responsibilities. I remember somewhere that part of the dev team saying around the lines that this game would be casual friendly. Thus being able to drop the game, keep up with news, pop in for a reasonable amount of time and feel satisfied about what you earned for the event and then go about your life, undisturbed. Now now indeed this may be a rant of disappointment, but I still wish to hear from everyone about what was said here, what was asked, and what you think. Until Next Time Gamer Friends PSN GameGolem Maybe I'll See You Starside, If I have time

Didn't bother reading the entire thing, stopped after "what do WE get" . the answer is simple. Nothing. The Iron Banner is a tournament for the best to attend. Ya its brutal but that's the way it is.
