They should do that. Oh wait, Activision, the money whores would probably not allow them to make that or maybe make it a DLC which would cost the game. I'd love to see that its just that the great people at Bungie are so restraint and held back by the greedy money whores at Activision. Maybe in the future Bungie would leave Activision and be an independent company and give fans what they truly want.

  • Yeah maybe I bungie could get EA to publish their games, way better than Activision

Why? This is very very unlikely to happen and haven't you seen the DLC line up for 2015? They are all found in the disk yet they ask us to pay for it.. This should be free if ever it comes out.. Look at Rockstar Games, they give out their DLC for free

  • I'm sorry but given the amount of work that would take, it should be DLC. But I'd be happy to pay for it.

  • All of the DLC (1 & 2) content is already on the disc. I'm still going to buy it though because I want to play the new raids... -blam!-ing Activision rolling in my money.

  • You ever think that maybe they just put the info there as a place holder, or so that it wouldn't take as long to download?

I don't know how to break this to you, but most companies install pieces of planned DLC on the Disk, it ensures less problems when the actual DLC comes out, ensuring a smoother release. This is after all, part of the reason why all DLC for a game is planned out before it's release. That said, we were referring to information that isn't on the Disk, nor is a part of planned DLC (revealed at least) which is creating an entire City for us to roam in. That takes time, money, and effort.

  • Yeah but if you're going to let parts of that DLC playable in the Beta then why cut it out for the final version to release as DLC?

  • This is a late reply and goes off our original topic - as there wasn't any "city content" ever shown for this game. That said, really any of that stuff from the beta we can't say if it will ever be in the game. We just assume that's the purpose but they may have gone in a completely different direction. A beta is not a demo of what the game will be like but is used for testing (obviously), which is why you normally sign something about it not being the final product and subject to change and what not. It may have been that certain content may have made more sense to be placed with the dlc or that it didn't fit the image they had for the game/ruined the flow. That said, none of that really matters as we are discussing whether or not we'd be willing to purchase a dlc of the city, which to our knowledge has never been designed or planned for the game, unless you know if something the rest of us don't? You'd seriously make my day if you have any information about content of the City.

Usually companies will try to avoid that. If I was to think of a reasonable explanation for it, it's because it wasn't fully finished, or ended up matching better with the DLC than they thought, and and fit the flow better with being with the DLC. At least from my experience, that's what I've seen happen behind the scenes. To be honest, it shouldn't ever happen because it's like giving someone a birthday gift to play with early before you wrap it and then wait till Christmas to give it to them.....
