I wasn't sure. I can't tell if the show is a satire of other anime shows or what. If you watch it carefully, you see a lot of things that are very interesting. It's kind of like watching The Lion King or SpongeBob when you're older, some of the subtext is clearly meant for an older audience.

Too may hyphenated words. Dude, Dandy is pure comedy, and the plots are so crazy perhaps the writers were smoking something. I find it hilarious but it has nothing to do with Bebop other than being directed by Watanabe. Think a lot of people expected something similar, and it's anything but similar. Love the show to relax, empty brain and laugh. [spoiler]Holy crap, used a lot of words to say I enjoy the damn show.[/spoiler]

May be before your time, although you did mention Akira. Trinity Blood, Trigun, Darker than Black, FMA? Dandy is not for everyone, obviously, but it's not half baked, you just don't like the cake. I like it, as insane as FLCL.
