First of all its kinda lame to bump your own post. More importantly though, I disagree, respectfully. If Engrams dropped during matches I think it would just be distracting. Frankly I'm more focused on finding my next kill or surviving after a gunfight in PvP. I don't want to take the extra seconds to run over and grab my Engram drop. I know the Postmaster would mail it to me if I missed it, but my natural reaction is to run and grab the loot, which could end up getting me killed.

  • Most kills in the Crucible are up close in my experience (I pretty much only do Skirmish). Most engrams end up being taken right after a melee kill in PvE, so it might not be so bad visually. For things like Clash, it may be a different story. =o

  • Yeah that's a good point. I didn't consider up close combat leading to instantly grabbed Engrams. I usually stay at long to mid range with rifles, so for me I'd have to be running over to their corpse to claim my prize. To be honest though I'm one of the seemingly few who would be fine if there was no loot awarded for Crucible, as I just play it for fun, same as I used to with Halo games.

  • Now that you mention it, I'd like that too. There's really nothing worse than completely obliterating the other team just for one of them to get an exotic weapon. PvP almost feels like a chore when you're doing it for loot and watching others reap the benefits from it can be a letdown at times. x.x

  • Yeah, it's disheartening in that way sometimes, but being completely random, I just have to accept it. Playing Crucible for gear seems like a good way to outfit your Guardian right after hitting level 20 with some decent Rares and maybe a Legendary if you get lucky. As it stands now all the gear I've earned from Crucible has been broken down for materials.

  • Sorry 'bout that, I'm kind of new to the whole forum etiquette thing. ^_^;; You're right it could be distracting to some people, I just thought it would feel more rewarding to have earned that engram rather than it just being placed into your inventory at the end of a match.

  • Yeah I can understand your reasoning for thinking it would be cool. But consider that, even in PvE, those Engram drops are completely random, just as at the end of a Crucible match, so it's less of a case of rewarding good play and more a case of hitting the lottery. I go into Crucible assuming that I will get nothing every match, so I'm pleasantly surprised when any loot if awarded to me at the end.
