Do you do the bounties? Collect Vanguard/Crucible marks? You're doing it wrong if it's taken you this long to get gear.
Otherwise just wait for the patch then you'll have more legendary items than you know what to do with if you can get 12 engrams in a night.

Yeah, I don't know why they decided to make the odds for legendary engrams to produce legendaries so low. The nerf to the cave and the buff to the engram aren't terribly far apart in the grand scheme of things at least, patience is key here.

Is your vanguard rank 2 then (i didn't count how many that takes)? If so max your vanguard marks via strike playlist if you haven't and buy your shoes and/or gloves. Then you'll be in full legendary armor and likely level 26 at which point you'll be looking for upgrade materials from the daily. I can't wait for legendary engrams to be legendary items, it's coming soon so I really wouldn't recommend grinding engrams right now as it's a big waste of time compared to what you can do in a few days (hopefully the patch will actually come out tomorrow).

What you get for your time is vanguard rep, which allows you to spend vanguard marks on vanguard gear. If you've played as much as you say you have you should easily have a full set of vanguard gear.

Edited by Justchris420: 10/1/2014 2:34:55 PMThat is how I got what I got now. I bought it but in a games when you beat a bad ass they drop loot acording to your level in Destiny the loot is random and my luck has been bad bad bad I guess. I should have farmed like everyone else was, I guess.

If your playing a race game and you win the F1 cup and that game gave you a Yugo you would be like WTF and that is what Destiny is doing over and over to people.
