I don't know about anyone else bcuz I'm mostly a Lone Wolf player and I hate being in an area farming and all I get are about 5 rare engrams and a ton of green engrams, but then I go to the cryptarch and he gives me just greens or gear I already had ten lvls ago. So when I say the 1.0.2 patch preview last week I thout it would be on this past Tuesday like all other patches but it was not. Now here is the reason, at least from my stand point, the last big update before the death of the loot cave was the queens wrath and it added new content but then they got rid of the only good thing besides experience from the entire missions. Then they had the next patch which as almost everyone knows killed the only actual social part of this game, for most people, and they took away the drop rates to which also screwed up most people who need loot. So hopefully when the queens wrath and her bounties are done this week they will also put in the patch bcuz it will probably be easier for them to patch the two together.
I would like to apologize for a couple of tangents in my post but I hope this might help some of the community and they can stop asking around and get at least an idea of wht might happen.

Well I was wrong the update came out today.

Well it looks like they are releasing or they already did release the 1.0.2 patch today. Its kind of funny how we are all talking about it today and that it actually happens.

Edited by habs: 10/1/2014 3:44:12 PMum...every place is a loot cave.yes people had to be social when they did it.but the majority of the community as well as bungie felt getting gear that was was distasteful.thats why they removed it.believe it or not the ramifications of not removing it were greater. hopefully in the future bungie will choose to allow us to communicate in ways other than point.dance or sit.then we'll get to actually be social in ways that don't rock the boat. btw the "new"loot cave interferes with chest farmers.yu go there, expect someone to stand in that area because hes been there since beta and doesn't like you doing what you doin.

Sorry but I forgot the original end date which is October 6th for the queens wrath.

Thout...... Correction (Thought)

Pretty good conclusion, very likely. Not sure why it would even take long to do it though considering they did state that the loot system was originally how they are going to change it (purps giving purps, blues giving blue, etc). It was how the loot was going to work for a couple of months and they changed it relatively close to launch. Do not understand why it would be more then a couple days work to update that system they already have.

Edited by Dethrey: 10/1/2014 12:02:11 PMGreat conclusion glad to see like minded gamers coming together to figure out the inside goodies. Though in reality I believe bungie is just swamped or burned out working hours a day with teams of folks trying to write new code for the look system , hmm definitely a pain for them more so to the community but when all they hear is great job great work once they presented the game or demo at all these previous cons, events or GDC or E3 win a ton of awards they might have been or had their egos inflated then..... the community grew the game.launched and now they have to rush back to remake codes they thought were set in stone would last for awhile so I again agree with the timing but would like to add what if its a pain to resolve something they placed into the game as a main mechanism?

So from what you're saying is that next week on the 6th when the queens wrath ends they will send out the 1.0.2 patch and start the iron banner event for the 7th. Because they restart at 12am they're timezone, which I can't recall what it is now.

It also might be the 7th bcuz of iron banner is next Tuesday. Sorry about the extra posts I'm slowly waking up and thinking of possibilities and didn't know where the edit was on my phone at these times bcuz I do not feel like finding them.
