PvP for Exotic Bounties? Is this Arrogance? Cuz We hate it...

I ask if it's arrogance because do you [Bungie] believe that your PvP is so fascinating that you feel the necessity to succumb everyone to it, under very specific conditions, without considering that not everyone cares for your PvP? Let me also state that my wife and I really enjoy Destiny, primarily for its co-op PvE environment. My friend and his wife also enjoys it. Both of us bought a 2nd PS4 just so our wives can play. Although it sucks that the 4 of us can't play together as two couples for the majority of the content, so thanks for excluding that demographic, Bungie, but that's a whole different issue. The point is, we enjoy this game and we share a common thought... we really don't like the PvP in this game. And as far as we know, Destiny wasn't advertised to be primarily a FPS PvP game. We're fans of CoD and BF so we do appreciate FPS PvP, but we really don't like the way PvP is in Destiny. We just don't like the way it's done and we feel it lacks substance. That's our opinion, and therefore we chose not to play PvP, and we're not complaining about why we don't like PvP in Destiny. We didn't buy Destiny to PvP... we wanted the PvE co-op experience. What we are frustrated about, is why you're forcing us to PvP in your Exotic Bounties, without offering any PvE alternative? Your game has so much emphasis on PvP, when it's not advertised as primarily a PvP game. It's already bad enough that end game gear is easier to obtain through PvP, which works just as well in PvE, and that you have more PvP vendors and gear choices, but now if we want the only Exotic Hand Cannon (for example) from the bounties, we are forced to PvP? We understand Exotic gear should take effort to get. We totally understand and are prepared for that. But why not offer a choice for that particular part of the bounty? Like, "Do PvP for this part OR collect 1,000 Wizard heads in level 26 or 28 Heroic difficulty". We'd rather do the latter. Give us choices. This design leads us to believe one of the following: 1) The designer of these bounties completely missed the mark on making a task "Difficult" vs making a task that is "loathed" by a group of people. 2) You're so confident that your PvP will interest everybody, that you completely ignored the possibility that some could hate it. AKA - Arrogance. Or it could be both, I suppose. We were thoroughly enjoying the PvE elements of the game, and when my wife and I both got our Exotic bounties we were ecstatic and looked forward to completing it together, ready to take on some difficult tasks. When we got to the part that involves PvP, our hearts sank and we were completely discouraged. It was to the point that I was reminded I still have a few days to return our Destiny Bundle to Best Buy, just to illustrate how Frustrated we were. To those who are having fun in Destiny's PvP, that's great. This message is not for you, and nor do we care about you defending the PvP system. This is about a poor game design decision to forcibly mix PvE and PvP without the consideration of the players. You wanted feedback, so from a Male AND Female's PvE perspective, this is just incredibly frustrating. We're likely going forget about exotic bounties and hope you some day will introduce PvE based Exotic Bounties. Thanks for your time. /Endrant. TL;DR: This wasn't advertised as primarily a PvP game. Why is there so much emphasis on PvP, which also forces PvE players to PvP, to obtain Exotic Bounty Gear? Your PvP really isn't that great to expect everyone to engage in it. Give us PvE options for Exotic Bounty.

  • Exotic bounty: Exotic Hand canon: Bubble Blaster of Love Task 1: Dance for 20 minutes straight (breaking/stopping the dance at any point will result in the timer resetting). Task 2: Point and wave to 20 Guardians (One point, and one wave counts as one point. If someone points at you, it deducts one point). Task 3: 500 Helping Hand Points (5 points will be added to your total for every death you receive by an enemy player, 1 point for suicide, and -2 points for killing an enemy player). Task 4: Dance for 40 minutes straight (the grinding is getting harder, you can do it guardians). Task 5: Make 5 post in Bungie forums about how ridiculously hard this bounty is (each post must contain 2 paragraphs of why this game was a waist of money and that this bounty is too difficult, also include on paragraph of false exploits that have no evidence to back them up, but defend the exploits anyways). Task 6: The finger of Death, receive 10,000 Finger Bang points in Crucible (pointing at an enemy grants you 10 points). Task 7: Dance for 120 minutes straight (this is insane, I'm just going to dismantle this bounty, -blam!- this shit, I hate this game, why can't I have an exotic weapon, I deserve one because I paid moneyz for the gamez. OMG GIVE ME FREE GUD FUN GUNZ NOW!). Congratulations Guardian! You've completed the exotic bounty and received The Bubble Blaster of Love! This bounty should be made for the people that can't do real bounties (The Bubble Blaster of Love does friendly fire damage and heals/revives enemies).
