Thorn is a hand cannon. I could be wrong but the hawk moon a hand cannon ?

They both are hand cannons. The hawkmoon is a PS4 exclusive I do believe.

Yeah it's an exotic. You get those from higher level missions mostly. I got it from completing the weekly nightfall on Mars this week.
