The Conspiracy has reached Forbes and has 22,000 views... Time for a response
The community is pissed, even those of us that still hope that there is a way to right the ship. But we need answers... after reading the fire storm that was yesterdays forums I need to know that there is more content on the way that is free and unique or they need to just come out and say that this is what we get until Dec. expansion launch. Events don't count... they are not going to cut it...
If what we have is it... well, I guess I'll have to see what kind of mood I'm in come Dec. But I really feel like we were not given a complete game, it's my feeling and opinion. And that is what will influence my next purchase decision when it comes to DLC, I don't think I'm alone in that thinking.

Edit 2: Ok, so I think it's pretty obvious that there will be no response from Bungie, besides Deej's. I think it's unfortunate, and I'm bummed about it, but I'm moving on. The game is what it is, and as of this second I am still having a good time playing it... so that's what I'll do until it isn't fun anymore. Unfortunately, I can say that already at lvl 25 it is not AS fun as I had hoped. Usually, when playing an RPG progression game, it gets more fun as you get more powerful, but the repetition is starting to take it's toll on the game. Again, still playing but I just don't know if this game has the legs I had originally hoped and I firmly believe it is because a lot of content has been gutted, so it leaves a bad impression.

this game could have been tremendous...instead it's just blah....i keep thinking about the original vision of destiny and all that could have been. that game could have become legend....instead we get this watered down version that while playing when my GF says "honey i need you to help with blah blah blah" i have not problem dropping the controler. i was really looking for a reason to break up with her and the original vision of destiny was the basket i put all those eggs into. don't get me wrong for some reason i don't understand i keep playing it over and over agian at the same time thinking "wow this is really boring" or "what is the story/reason behind this particular event i'm doing". remember grape drink and grape juice look the same and sometimes taste the same but they are not the same formula. right now destiny is grape drink and the original vision is the grape juice i salavate for.

This is what the industry has become. Promise the world, deliver a brick and then ignore any wrong doing by putting up a happy PR front. This will only change when we fight against it with our wallets and that will never happen because the reason they keep doing it is there are always people who buy.

You are a level 25? There's a ton to do then. Hell, u havnt done the raid or weekly, exotic bounties. C'mon. I understand, as does everyone who had ever fallen in love with an mmo at launch. You sit back and pray that the game u love is popular and profitable enough to garner continuous content. I've been here a million x. But to make a huge deal out of a game that I've already logged an insane amount of time in for $60 is absurd. It's more than worth the money. Yeah, I'm in ur boat when it comes to hoping that I can play this for some time to come. Right now, I'm playing w friends I havnt played w in awhile and having a great time.

6 RepliesWhat god damn conspiracy is there? Theres nothing wrong with Bungie putting assets on the Disk that arent ready for use. It makes updating the game at a later date easier. Its called placeholders, lots of games have done it, and more game will do it. And if you believe the reddit ama, your an idiot. There is ZERO proof that the person in that ama was an actually bungie employee. Anybody smart enough could come with answers like that person did based on the vidoc video. People complain about Destinys dlc content, yet everyone in the world is fine with cods content of "Heres a few new maps, and maybe 1 new weapon." Maps which you do the same reptitive thing over again. While in Destiny, the two dlcs give something like 15-20 new missions with new possible bosses and new story elements, but apparently thats a bad thing to have actual gameplay content instead of some simple maps that add nothing new to gameplay like cod does. Is Destiny a perfect game, no it isn't, it has its flaws. But is it a good and fun game? Yes it is. Destiny is getting all this hate for no good reason.

Sick of all this speculation if you're to lazy to read grimoire cards, then don't complain about a story just because it's not presented in the regular fashion... If you truly do love stories in games why can't you piece them together with the cards? It's obvious more than ever that people don't want change in games, you all don't want people to take risks, nor gives those risks a chance [b]I[/b] don't give a crap if you don't think there's a story! Have you looked up grimoire cards explained or pieced together im sure someone has done the hard work for you since you all are to -blam!-in lazy to do it yourselves...

3 RepliesLet me just play devils advocate here.... Bungie wanted this to be a social game, admittedly it could be more social in game but.... A lot of people on here are speculating on the story (the bit that is apparently missing) and a lot of people are debating key aspects of the story and it almost feels as if this community is writing the destiny story as a collective hive mind (see what i did there?). Therefore we are having another social experience by not only becoming legend but writing the legend. Is this all just part of the experience? P.S. Deej, if you read this, please bring back the loot cave as a monthly "Hive open season" event, it needs no story it was just the most social in game experience we've had!

1 ReplyReally it's getting to be a joke just played the past 5 hours and this supposed patch where u could get more legendary drops and en grams what a joke I didn't get one damn legendary or possible exotic they need to -blam!-ing fix the game. It's getting ridiculous I got more uncommon drops then anything tired of grinding on this and getting jack squat come on bungie you need to do better for sure.

Although the Forbes article is purely speculation it's very well written and makes some fair comments/observations. I like Destiny and still play most nights, but I still can't help feeling somewhat disappointed with the storyline and general emptiness of the game-world. I just hope the DLC helps fill this void and makes Destiny become the game it was always meant to be.

12 RepliesBungie and Activision should give the two expansions for free. And credit those who already purchased it. It's obvious that their whole marketing scheme has been a fraud. Giving the expansion passes to everyone is a good way to get back into people's good grace especially considering how much money they made on launch. Maybe if they aren't greedy now people will buy the next few Destiny titles. Right now they look like scam artists, and a shame to the whole gaming industry. You would think after the aliens game debacle gaming companies wouldn't outright lie about content. Because worse than being sued is you being blacklisted from your jobs. Just do something to make it right for the community.

11 RepliesI just wonder...has anyone on theze forums ever played an MMO style game before? They are all repetitious, they are all just grinding the same raid and dungeons over and over again, they all have a terrible in-game story (the lore for MMO games has always been told in books, not story progression). I just dont get why the witch hunt on Bungie, makes no sense. You people DO know their will be more content right?

People are raving about the Nemesis system, yet some reviewers are citing it as "repetitive". Ring any bells? These are all subjective opinions. There's no right or wrong, only what we think. Seriously, folks. Everything is relative. Measure your time played vs price paid. Did you get the game for less than a dollar an hour? If so, it's a bargain. This reminds me of an irate customer who buys a sandwich, and returns only the crust, saying "That was terrible...I want my money back". As I've said before, if you want to see changes, voice your complaints along with those of us who love the game but still recognize its flaws. Bungie can either address them, or run the risk of seeing the player base drift away. But I know for a fact they're not going to come here and get into a tug of war discussion with fans. Those things never end well.

I understand that they are probably formulating a very political and strategic response, but the longer it takes, the worse the situation will become. There's literally no way they can avoid it.

3 RepliesAlso, in this game getting "more powerful" only goes so far and then they nerf you so you aren't too powerful (which I get for PVP) so you rarely get to feel like a badass even when fighting level 2 dregs as a level 20+ Guardian..

Watching this ViDoc from 2013 just confirms that the person that did the AMA is telling the truth on most if not all of the things he said, as if you watch this video. the way this game is going i see a FF14 coming soon. turn it all off and restart from the beginning. give us all the content on the disc and use DLC to add to the story not as the story itself.

It's really not a conspiracy. Every company cuts content for the DLC's. That's public knowledge.
