I personally believe 404 is legit. As much as we'd like to blame Activision for the tragedy know as destiny, because what it had done to cod. But the reality is that if advanced warfare comes out with everything they've revealed then this would be the cod with the most content since cod4. This will show us that game studios can deliver a complete game under Activision's flag. So what does this controversy tell us about bungie? It shows that bungie isn't as great as we think they are. Sure they did a great job with halo, but they really dropped the ball on delivering their original vision for the game. Sure, it's not easy to make a game as ambitious as this, so changes had to be made. But they still intentionality led us to believe that the game is still on track to be the epic game that they wanted to make weeks before the game is released. That's a studio with no professional integrity. To be OK with letting down so many fans proves that. Bungie said they're making a game that they want to play and share it with the fans, can you believe that this is what a world class studio wants to play? I sure don't. I just hope the people that left bungie will one day realize the original vision for destiny. I know I'm wasting my time on this forum expressing my opinion. In the end bungie wins, we wasted countless hours in the game and on the forums. In the end nothing will change, all that will happen is destiny will make a little less money than they originally thought.

 • This has proven to me that the people who made bungie what it is are no longer there. 343 seems to have gotten the better parts of the team after all.

 • Or Activision purposely sabotaged Destiny in order to give a smooth (and perfect) release to Advanced Warfare. It sounds like a pretty logical thing to do coming from studios these days, they discovered the hype for destiny was so much higher than AW that they said "woah bungie, hold on a second.... you know what would be really great for your game? NOT releasing the game that you promised! People would LOVE that." While they snicker behind the locked doors of their corporate office and laugh at the sudden shift of hype.

 • Yeah, it may or may not be true, but to me it sounds pretty legit. Couple that with the fact that they gave an exclusive shader if you pre ordered AW, and you've got a pretty interesting theory and for some reason, it's one that I really can't shake, it makes a lot of logical sense.

 • Ummm, what? While it seems pretty clear Bungie cut some corners story-wise, to suggest the Activison would sabotage a game they're publishing, a game which they've supposedly poured hundreds of millions of dollars into, I don't know, that seems like speculation at best and a little crackpot at worst.

 • They have recoupled that money from the game shops of the world already. They spent most of their budget on Hype it seems. Snyone else notice AW has the double jump?

 • P.S. I did mention that it was only a theory of mine, but one that I can definitely see happening. Especially considering bungie's past work, it doesn't make sense that they'd cannibalize so much of their work without reason.

 • Money which they made back already on HYPE ALONE, they don't need to worry about destiny anymore now that everyone has a product. They can work on their "baby" now.
