Christianity is a religion of peace. Prove me wrong.
T4R. You can't. I feel it's time some of the ignorant haters learn what Christianity is actually about because I'm absolutely sick of reading false accusation after false accusation pertaining to Christianity.
ATTENTION:
THE CRUSADES IS NOT A VALID ARGUMENT.
Christianity as a religion does not condone murder or even killing in the name of Christianity. The decision to fight was made by the pope. The pope OBVIOUSLY does not control the religion. To be a Christian, you must follow Jesus Christs' word. Jesus never condoned killing. Therefore the pope went against his own religion in ordering a war. The pope does not have more say than Jesus. The pope does not control the religion. He is was nothing more than a man in power and a hypocrite. You can not blame a religion for being evil when individual people who can do whatever they want do something bad and affiliate themselves with the religion.
I mean If you're going to do that then:
A guy who lives to eat fried chicken kills someone. So people who eat fried chicken are evil!
It's stupid.

2 RepliesThe old testament is full of examples where it's states that u should kill non believers and people who commit sin I have studied religion in college an multiple religions Christianity was historically violent then as the mass flock was getting disillusioned the new testament happened and continently became a religion of love in instances in the old testament god killed a women for simply looking back the the home she was leaving (pillar of salt) but the new testament yes is a peaceful book but the problem is is that to pick and chose part of the bible to believe doesn't mean ur not a Christian it just means your a hypocrite

If Putin ordered the senseless murder of millions of people and nobody rose to stop him, then the country itself is at fault. Hitler. His country didn't stop him at all. The people are at fault as well as him. So, the people are at fault and so is the religion. Point proven.

My "way of life" acknowledges what we're givin to sustain our lives, and we give thanks... Some religions made up, By The Government to Control people.. In my "Way of Life"(Religion) it is said to plant and hunt off the land our Creator Gave us.. My "Way of Life" is Peace.. We Burried our weapons under the "Tree Of Peace" Before the Europeans came to "America" because it is a test to my people.. The Europeans came with a vision of domination... With the use of Violence.. We don't condone that... If you remember history... Native Americans helped the Europeans survive our lands... But in the Name Of God, yet slaughtered our people because we were unciviliZed savages...

1 ReplyTheoretically, it is meant to be a religion of peace. However, people and ther morals come up short. Say for the commandments saying that adulterers should be killed. Similar situation for Buddhism - they say we should strive to better ourselves. And in Sikhism, an extremist Sikh is a major contradiction (coming from the word of a Sikh himself).

All religions have there ugly side, even if not all religious people evil. I can supply a almost endless supply of these stories in the name of Christianity. I am not targeting your faith alone as i could find just as many stories in the name of Islam, and Judaism. 1 ReplyJust because the religion doesn't condone violence and the like doesn't mean all of its followers don't condone it, either. Except Buddhism. I don't think Buddhists have ever laid claim over a Jewish country or declared war on heretics and all-around white people.

If that is the case, do you consider ALL OTHER religions (Judaism, Islam, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhism, etc) to be peaceful as well?
