You should attempt it before dropping it... I'm not sure 25 kill death spread is accurate. I had this bounty, and went on a terrible losing/dying streak that left the counter untouched. You should go into crucible, play 3 or 4 games and see where the counter is after that and gauge whether or not you want to continue with it.
The rate at which you find the exotic bounties is random, and there are only 6 to choose from. I, personally, would never abandon one... even if I didn't want the gun it gives.

i have attempted it. Over huge number of games just to see where this is leading. i have went up to 14/25, dropped to 0, gone to 10/25, dropped to 1. if i have a good team, it's great. most of the time, not only do i suck, so does the rest of the team, so this makes for a very frustrating affair

haha! all good, i am just feeling so awful after seeing such huge drops, it's not doing much for my dislike of crucible.
