Im interested to see/test this pattern. It does make sense, as my friend can't get an Auto Rifle to drop, and hasn't seen one since level 12. However. My post here isn't battling/debating this topic. It's more so towards the people making comments. It's a question.. Why is it, that you think you should have the best loot in the game (or exotics, or legendary engrams), when the game hasn't even been out a full month yet? Why are multiple people mad at this? Sure there are people out there who are 29/30, people who have an exotic armor piece, and exotic weapon piece. But just imagine if it were easy to get these things. EVERYONE would have them. And not to mention, if everyone has an exotic, that kind of devalues it. There will always be people who have more time on their hands. More time to farm loot caves #1, #2, and #3. More organized people who will be better at farming Raids, and Very Hard Strikes. There will always been someone who has better gear than you, and is better than you in general. So yes, some people will have Exotics... and some wont. But the real underlying fact is. If it were easier to get exotics/legendaries. The game would be less fun than it already is. People are so quick to rush to the end game of the game, and then they complain when they've run out of content. Sure the story should be longer, and maybe there should be more matchmaking. But there will always be people rushing to get the best loot/gear. The new WoW expansion is coming out soon. And I have friends who are already planning their goal to get to the new raids. I also had a friend who went from level 80 to 85 the first day they raised the level cap to 90. Everyone is in such a rush to get to say they've explored all the content, gotten all the loot. But when they arrive there, they've just rushed through their $60, and now are bored without new content. So they bash the game, because while others are calmly enjoying the progression through the game, those who rushed are bored. Bungie will never be able to release content fast enough to please people, unless they take a methodical approach and put more focus onto releasing content each month.

 • "Why is it, that you think you should have the best loot in the game (or exotics, or legendary engrams), when the game hasn't even been out a full month yet? Why are multiple people mad at this?" To answer this for you, it is because after level 20 gear=level and without the best gear you litterally can't move on to the next set of missions. The problem created from this type of system is that if you can't get improved gear is that it blocks you out of new content for reasons beyond your control. If i like using a hand cannon with a shot gun and heavy machine gun I should have to use anything but those to get a new one(if the OPs theory holds any water) and I certainly shouldn't have to spend days on end with the same gear trying to find something(anything) better just so I can have a tissue's chance in hell of not dieing in the first room of the new mission. "Everyone is in such a rush to get to say they've explored all the content, " Sure, some people like to take things slow and get every last little bit of enjoyments out of months of work to reach the max level, but that doesn't mean that someone who wants to grind through the game in a week shouldn't be able to if that is their thing. The point being that when gear is difficult to get because you have to complete X mission with Y requirement to get the best gear so that you can move onto the next rank, people may complain about the difficulty but that normally means that it is just creating a skills requirement to get, but when that next peice of gear = your level advancement(meaning you cann't even get stronger for the chalange that gets you it) and the odds of getting that gear are about as random as a dice roll it starts to create a breaking point in players that want to and are skilled enough to play the next raid but can't because some eveil dice troll is trolling them. TL;DR gear = level is a crap model and is creating the complaints even amoung people that would otherwise not mind taking four months to reach max level and just start looking at the crazzy legendary gear.

 • I get what you are saying. And yes the leveling system could use some improvements. As well as just raising the cap to a huge ass number. But what I was saying is, those people complaining about content because they rushed it, only have themselves to blame. The loot system should probably be revamped. But not in the way where it rewards one plays the over another?

 • I think a lot of the problem may be with the fact people have gotten used to yearly console releases of full games which for me personally are usually very lacking repeats of the same game the year before with updated graphics and new names for the characters. I hope this guide just makes a lot of peoples grind more effective and help bring a stop to all the complaining about the allegedly "broken loot system", that I think works exactly as intended.

 • I agree with you. Every Battlefield/Call of Duty/Assassins Creed/Grand Theft Auto is the same from game to game, minus the theme, and the names of weapons/characters. Which is fine, because people play the story for a week, then just play multiplayer. The same could be said for Halo. But I think that people who expected this to be the next Halo, are those dissapointed. Those who have never really dove into a good mmo story, are lost here. On the same respect, those who love MMO's feel like its a very bland MMO. I think Bungie is going in the right direction with this game. It's almost like a first of its kind. But, they need to focus on delivering the game they want, and not get caught up in the animosity, hate and rage of people who feel mislead. They all have their valid points, but we need to let Bungie make the game, and if you don't like it, return it. Forum bashing/trolling isn't going to help anything.

 •
But I think that people who expected this to be the next Halo, are those dissapointed.
I missed the whole Halo craze. I got out of gaming around 2002 and didn't get back in until around 2012. I got the earliest Halo I could that would work on my 360 and found it to be a very generic shooter. Now I didn't finish it, but that's because it just didn't have anything that pulled me in. I think if people were to go back and play the first couple of Halo games they would see that they when first released, Halo wasn't some AMAZING piece of gaming/cinema/story/action. And compared to Destiny it is pretty darn basic. (Again, I never finished the Halo I started, and have not played the entire series, but plan on getting the re-released series when it comes out. I acknowledge the story might explode right after my quitting point, or in the very next DLC or game. But my point is, the first Halo, like the first Destiny had issues that need fixing and Bungie is working on that for Destiny).

 • Yes this is something new, which is what we need. It is a little bland at the moment but there is so much there to run with. I'm excited to see were future content takes us and I really enjoy the gameplay. This game is pretty much the intro that scrolls up at the beginning of star wars lol. Bungie Should've started of the game with the word Prologue and then after the final cut scene popped up the words Chapter One. Something very simple like that would've shut a lot of people up lol.

 • Stop acting like it actually takes time to get through the content: it doesn't. There is literally so little content that you'll see all of it in just a few days of casual playing. That's what happens when a developer gets lazy. Oh look, it's the same area I've been to a hundred times before! Oh look, another defend Dinkle-bot from a horde of enemies section! Oh look, another Strike boss that has you beat on the boss, kill adds, beat on boss, rinse repeat. Why do people like you think that anyone who gets pissed off at the shitty loot system is somehow an entitled brat? Guess what, getting top grade loot is literally all there is to do at level 20. Every activity is devoted entirely to that end. Additionally, in order to see VoG, you need to have a good bit of quality gear already. That's a crying shame, since that appears to be the only content Bungie put at least a half-assed effort towards.

 • List 5 games with longer single player stories that are hybrid single/multiplayer games. I can name several that are longer that are strictly single player, but in hybrid games like this, the length is on par with other games IMHO. maybe you'll jar my memory, but it took me a couple of weeks as a daily 2 hour games plus half of the weekends. If you rush through, skipping past groups of enemies to just get to the end fight like I see players do in strikes, then I guess you shorten the experience. Or if you just play story mode and grind it through as fast as possible, then it would seem short. I played through the story while mixing in patrol missions, bounties, PvP, strikes, and public events and felt the story length enjoyable. Did it have holes in it which made me wish for more? Of course, but for the game type I don't feel the story was radically shorter than other games of the type.

 • I'm not saying there is a lot of content. I was mainly focusing on people who are like "OMG I DONT HAVE AN EXOTIC! -blam!- BUNGIE FOR MAKING IT HARD FOR ME TO GAIN LOOT!" I beat the story casually with a friend, and other friends sped through it. I enjoy the game, the patrolling, the bounties, the dailies, weeklies and the weekend exotic store. I enjoy the game, and I have fun while doing it. I feel that some people, are only excited when they are getting new and better loot. Like for them, the loot is the reason you play the game. Maybe after 20, thats why you play, just to get better gear. It's kind of the point, it makes sense. BUT... when you reach level 28/29/30, and then you complain because there is no more content to justify you playing the game anymore. Mainly because you sped to the end through rigorous grinding or loot cave whoring, either way, you shouldn't be upset because you experienced all the game has to offer in a month. No one made you spend 200 hours on the game so you could be done with it IN A MONTH. I don't mind the grind and getting loot and stuff, but some people are complaining, just because they are out of loot to get, or things to do, because they rush to the end of it. Every game has this desire to just rush through it. If you take the time to slow down and casually play. The game is way better than alot of people are making it out to be.
