I think it should be stated all those who are trying to get the bottom of this are doing it because they enjoy the universe Bungie has created, no one wants to denigrate the game unfairly but, from the state of the game it is clear something went wrong, everyone who plays can feel they are playing something that was meant to be great, the foundation we're all stood on feels solid, unfortunately someone either demolished or never built the house. This is how the game feels and even if the reddit user is BS so what? clearly something was up behind the scenes and we're all just hoping Bungie take it on board and do what they can to rectify the game sooner rather than later. We'll keep playing and support Bungie, but the community is trying to make it clear more of the same is not going to cut it.

  • Exactly, i have been a big supporter of Bungie through all this but I feel something is missing as well. I hope they get it fixed cause this game has the potential to really change the industry.

  • I've been following Bungie since combat evolved, and that's why I know something went wrong internally at Bungie, the last time I felt something off like this was around Halo 2, not to the same extent as Destiny but something definitely felt off and it wasn't until much later it transpired how troubled the development was. What I'm hoping Bungie take away from this backlash is that their core mechanics, moving, shooting sound design, art direction etc. are all solid and are deserving of praise, but they need to go away and formulate a cohesive narrative first and foremost this is the most important thing, they have to draw people into their universe, that means more narrative structure, that means variation in Mission design, that means when people are in their universe interaction between players is facilitated.

  • I agree! The game DOES feel like it falls short! And the people denying it are just lying to themselves ! And I DO enjoy this game, but you know something isn't right

  • Found this in the article: Bungie art director Christopher Barrett dubbed Destiny a “mythic science fiction” universe and shared a number of locales we can look forward to visiting: the Cosmodome Breach, the ruins on the edge of the European Dead Zone, the swamps of Old Chicago (likely a nod to Bungie’s original home city), derelict fleets floating in the rings of Saturn, the earth Moon’s Hellmouth, the uncharted depths of Reef, giant obsidian pyramid ships, mile-long tomb ships, and much more. Really angry that all these places were already fully functional and tested but then removed. Now we have an old Russia that is much smaller than it was supposed to be, same with the whole game.
