Dear "Bungie Owes Us" Folk...

If you really think Bungie owes you free DLC just because you don't like the game or you think it's too short or you don't get exotic weapons often enough: You are an idiot. You chose to buy the product, whether you pre ordered it or didn't wait to read the reviews or had too high of expectations or felt Bungie mislead you, the point is this: you bought the game. You paid the price Bungie asked for their game, you got what you paid for. If you are dissatisfied with the product, trade it in, throw it away, play something else. You are certainly entitled to have an opinion about the game, but you aren't entitled to free anything. Grow up. This is how the real world works. Edit: There a lot of people who think Bungie owes them because the game is broken. But Destiny is not a broken game. Final Fantasy 14 when it first came out? That was a broken game. Virtually unplayable, everything was a complete mess and Square Enix let people play for free because they knew it was broken. Everybody knew it. Destiny may have some balance issues and kinks that need worked out, but it is by no means broken. Also, there are those who feel Bungie owes them because the game isn't as it was advertised. To which I say: so what? Tons of games aren't exactly the way they were advertised. That's the whole point of advertising: to sell you on their product! Aliens: Colonial Marines is a great example of this. I remember even being kind of disappointed by Mass Effect because I expected this huge galaxy and got a bunch of linear missions and boring planets to explore. (DISCLAIMER: I love Mass Effect. But it definitely wasn't released as advertised) None of this means we are entitled to free stuff. It just means you bought into the idea of the product before you tried it or read reviews or waited to see what others thought of the game.

Everything else is after that 1st impression. Destiny is a bad game that yes has promise, but I've seen ps3 games that are miles ahead of destiny as is. Master chief won't save you from what destiny is. Bungie should be held accountable for stealing our money. Ball face lies to sell this game one way then release it like it is. Bungie I'd rather not give u a chance to fix destiny because you stole our money. Did they hold me at gunpoint? No. Did they deceive and manipulate its audience through interviews and advertising? Yes. 100 years ago people were shot dead for less than the crime commited here. Idc if you love or hate destiny. I care about my hard earned money being con'd from me. If the game sold well it's only because of the deception. Had I not trusted the creators of halo reputation, I would have never bought destiny. Fix destiny? Don't bother. The damage is done and I seriously wish you luck in the future. Because my money that I earn, 50 hour weeks will go anywhere but to you.

    • To be honest, it's not all Bungie's fault. If the PS4 had more games to choose from, I probably would not have bought this game.

Reading through these posts and seeing how they're mostly hours ago. How the landscape changes when it's outed that the AMA on Reddit is a hoax and a whole bunch of idiots have to eat crow because they believe everything the read on the internet. And yet you're still crying about getting an "explanation" or demanding free content because you felt shortchanged. Go run to mommy and daddy for their credit card and buy another game you idiots because obviously you have no idea how the real world works. Obviously you can't when all you do is cry on an internet forum for free shit. LMAO Go ahead and call me a fanboy. Rather be that than a simp who can't think for himself. *WE'VE WOKEN THE HIVE!!!*

      • All they will do ( if they even will) is just issue a generic apology about not being up to expectations and that they will do better in the next game. Fable was popular for this and 343 did the same with halo 4. They don't owe us anything. It's like with rock star. Gta v died super fast and a lot of promises weren't made. Did they do anything no. Once they get your money that's it. Like I said they will do a generic apology, make more promises for the future and that will satisfy enough people to ensure sales for their next game.

        • Why is it in almost any other medium, consumer rights are actively pursued, but in gaming if you show even the slightest dissatisfaction and demand you get your moneys worth, you're an entitled child? Bungie not only owe you the product advertised, but they owe you everything, without you, the paying customer, they would not exist.

          • Bungie basically sold us a bare game that was probably re-tooled/re-worked from the ground up after key people left. Having disputes about the general direction of the game from within the company doesn't help either. From here, they have content that was supposed to be on the game but now had to be re-done to some extent which probably explains why we see content on the disk we cant access yet. But they still have deadlines to meet so basically we got an unfinished product. This is obvious because the story makes no sense. It's like we were dropped in the middle of a Harry Potter book. I feel we'll eventually get the full story about our characters and the world as they continue to flesh out content or w/e was cut out of the original version of destiny. No doubt, feedback from us will have influence on the destiny universe, story, lore and w/e else. Whether people want to wait that long is another story but I can see both sides of the argument.

          • Dear "Original Poster", If you don't think that Bungie has a PR mess on its hands right now with the Destiny launch I think you have a warped view of a consumer based market. I think if Bungie wants to get a handle on this mess free DLC is a pretty straight forward way to do it. If you think they can get away with marketing a game as god's gift to gamers and then have it come out the way it did then YOU are the shortsighted one.

            • Bungie owes me nothing. I bought the game and enjoyed it for about 15 levels. After that it became repetitious and not to my taste. I continued to grind to get where I am now and I do not like this aspect of the game. I do not think that this is the finest example of their work.

            • I don't feel Destiny owes me, I'm still on the fence on my opinion of the game. But I will voice my opinion with my wallet when dlc comes out. Hopefully others will as well. Also, I think people are upset because they were promised 10 years worth of content but there isn't even 10 weeks worth in this game.

                  • Tell me, are you "happy" that Bungie locked content on your disk. That they have fleshed out areas ALREADY IN GAME but we aren't allowed to have it? Are you jumping up and down excited that Bungie cut there entire story practically in 2013, and this is only the bare bones minimum of the new one? Actual faction wars, real NPCS, a story that made sense, multiple intros for different races, all of it cut, and you're perfectly fine with saying to just ignore this and accept the skeleton we've been handed? Well I'm done. I'm done trying to help the community, by promoting opinion, by promoting actual FEEDBACK! I'm sick and tired of the majority of you gamers who are perfectly fine with this. This is the last straw, just know that I warned you before it got worse

                    • I don't care about the DLC. However the more you play Destiny the more you realise that is a rather poor show. Why get Bill Nighy in to do what amounts to about 4 paragraphs for voice acting, could have got anyone in to do that role just as well. Why does the story seem so incomplete, maybe it is a setup for the DLC and that would make perfect sense, however the rest of it, the missions, bounties etc are all very grindy, they don't give you any side story about certain characters or factions and reward you for discovering that. Simply dropping into Patrol and doing missions isn't really very exciting. I think we have all played the game to death, what they expected to be a longer experience was made drastically shorter due to the over consumption of the content in such a short period of time. But I don't think you can argue that the content isn't there, the game feels a lot like other shooters, short story and then on to PvP.
