What I gather from most of the comments here "Wahhh it's taking me more than a couple of weeks to get end game loot because I'm not 100% guaranteed to get it in one of the easiest ways possible".
I don't get why everyone wants to just be handed the best stuff. Earn that shit, or keep looking. Damn.

I agree with earning but if I complete a task and the reward is a purple engram then haven't I earned it? I believe that means I have but according to the Cryptarch I have to earn it then hope. There isn't even a way, other than getting hosed until you reach rank whatever with him, to increase your chances to get what you've earned. I understand your point if you include random drops from level 3 Shanks, however, since Bungie didn't differentiate between those drops and "earned" ones then that is on them as the developer not me as the consumer who has no power over that sort of issue.

I don't want to just be handed it out of every purple engram. You don't always get blue out of blue but no one complains about that. It adds a bit of suspense and more a challenge to get EMD GAME LOOT. Of course it's frustrating not getting it when you get the engram, but that makes it feel all the more rewarding when you finally do.

Ha, I was upset about it when I was moving from green to blue and still getting green engrams. Maybe if the percentages were better. Seriously though, 1 in 20 for me. That is a terrible percentage especially since I wasn't an engram farmer and typically play boards with a purpose, one of those being engrams I hope to gain during missions.
