Wow, you like to type. I bet no one read the whole thing. Remember before these new consoles released, all of that speculation that games might cost $70, $80 or even $90 for the disc? It's because creating games has become unbelievably expensive. The fact of the matter is that these consoles should cost more than $400 and the games should cost more than $60 but as an act of good faith. Microsoft and Sony promised the new games would stay at $60 or lower. The reason all of these games are coming out on both next gen and last gen is because they more than likely couldn't recoup costs on next gen alone. Season Passes are how game publishers are getting around that $60 guarantee. Technically, Destiny will cost you $90 or Watch Dogs was $80. Ever hear of inflation? The prices of everything have gone up over the past 10 years except video games, they are still $60 for the base game and Season Passes are sold if you would like the "whole game" that should have just been originally sold at $90.

  • Games have become more and more expensive to make because developers make it more expensive, just saying. Also, video games have been reaching larger and larger audiences as the years go by, therefore, more possible money to be made. That is not an excuse to release half a product and charge for dlc for a full experience that many other games do witout dlc. There are also MANY games out there that cost less than 60 dollars, made with a smaller budget, yet still give you a full experience just like any other game. In the case of destiny, I didn't (or my brother) pay 60 dollars to get pretty graphics and solid fps combat. I paid to get a story also that this game severly lacks in, sure it has one, it just never finishes any plot except the black garden, to which I dont even have any idea WHY I was even sent to destroy it, or what the black garden even was exactly. If this is explained in the grimoire, then thats even worse, why wasn't it explained in the actual game as I am playing it!? Story isnt the only thing lacking. Theres almost no variation in the gameplay at all, its quite literally going from point to point killing things or defending yourself from hordes of enemies while you fight a boss that i simply a bigger version of what you ahve already fought, the only exceptions I am aware of is Vault of Glass and that one boss thats in a tank, and theres very minor combat vehicle points in the game. Patrol missions are about the same, either its kill things, or go to a spot and stand there or deploy ghost. 60 dollars for this?

If you don't like the game, get over it. Return it, sell it or just delete it. Play something else. I mean it's been 3 weeks now. The game at this point is not an unfinished game or half a game or whatever your really long posts say. You guys are just flooding the forums for no reason at this point. Many of us love the game and feel like it was the best $60 I spent all year. I've put over 50 hours into this game and am still playing! Half a game? rick. roll.

  • I really do enjoy the game, even after about 30 hours, but it's not worth 60$ of content, you gotta be very very easy to satisfy as a gamer to believe that. The game being fun (mechanics, grinding made fun at least most of the time so far) has nothing to do with it worth the development time or value. Great decisions were made, and talented people worked on it, but worth 60$ of content "at this state", give me a break..

However you want to spin it. That's fine with me. You can claim that I'm really easy to satisfy or admit that you're becoming ever more difficult, getting caught up in shared opinions but can I leave you with one last thought?

  • Remember when new games were 30 and 40 bucks, then that stupid game Mario 64 came out and tried to make us pay 70...stupid Mario had to go and ruin a good thing lol. But you are right, games still cost 60 bucks as they have since the ps3 and xbox 360 came out which was a decade ago. If you said this house will be worth 200k and in 10 years you can sell it for 200k...no one would be in real estate.

  • Back in the NES and SNES days, new games cost $49.99. The cost of buying a new video game has gone up $10 over the past 25 years but the cost of making them has gotten insane. Every other game developer went under during last generation due to the fact that even if a game sells pretty well, it still couldn't make the investment back.
