People bitch because they feel they deserve something when they do not. The game is too hard for them, they aren't getting what they desire, they want free maps, guns, content NOW. These kids are too used to having mommy and daddy cave and give them what they want. This is an age of entitlement and these kids don't believe they should have to do anything and all should be given to them. They believe their words are more important that anyone elses. They don't matter as you said there are more who truly love the game than there are those who don't. Let the babies cry as much as they complain about the game they are the ones who play more than anyone else.

  • Agreed. And I understand people got even more butt-hurt after the 404architect crap, like that story sounded much more in depth and awesome. The thing is, it's not that. First, we don't know If the guy was from Bungie. The game is what it is, and it's still pretty Damn awesome for what it is. Beats the CoD games in my personal opionion in both "campaign" and PvP. I feel like I got my money's worth for 60 bucks. Especially with ongoing events and updates. I think all these butthurt people assume they are entitled to this full story, changes, blahblah when the game hasn't even been out a full 30 days yet. Not all games give you a full story. Some leave you confused as -blam!-, that's why there's sequels, games you pay for. In Bungies case, so far, we're getting DLC because it's adding material to our story and gameplay. Not a full sequel, but that's why it's not a full 60 bucks. But people think they're entitled to it for free. Gtfo of here. I'd like free DLC as much as the next guy, but I trust this added material is being worked on now and the stuff on the disk are placeholders, as DeeJ mentioned. People are just rude. If you don't honestly like the game, get some money back and refund it. I've gone through games I bought and hated but i didn't go onto forums complaining that I was entitled to a better game suited for my playstyle because the trailer looked cool or the gameplay from a year ago before release looked cool. I am so done. And I need to stop ranting. Lol.

  • This game seems to even confuse the developers and publishers. I think this is why there has been such poor execution in so many endless ways. You can't stick an fps consumer in a game that requires MMO type grinding and endless scenarios without some reason to do it. They're adrenaline junkies. Destiny has magnificent concepts and ideas that do not seem to mash well at all right now and the ones playing this game are running around like ants trying to figure it out. The only thing anyone knows is get to where you can play VoG and get to level 30, but there's no answer of why. What's the reason? Because I need to be tougher for something coming along later? Is it because that's just as far as you can get right now? There's a disconnect between the end of the story and the nightmare if above level 20. If a game needs to appeal to so many types of gamers then it needs to have a well executed and fun end game for everyone. So far this is just a game with elements that appeal to several types of gamers. What's worse is that it's social. So, there shouldn't be a surprise why there is such negativity in the community. The world is not ready for destiny and destiny is not ready for itself.....yet.

Very true which is why most of my posts are wait and watch. Wait for Destiny to grow and expand. The story to be fleshed out more. I treat this as chapter one of a book. Just the tip of the iceberg. Everyone is so used to jumping into games that have an existing lore. Like the ones that jumped into wow late and had raids, pvp ques and endless dailies. They weren't there for the no raids, tauren mill vs Southshore pvp grind fest with no battlegrounds and the quests where just something to get you bits of a story you pieced together and exp. Or the 40 man raids grind for months so you had enough gear to survive the next higher raid. Think about that most these people that complain this game is to grindy have no idea what a true grind is. Want a grind look up old info on the raptor or wintergrasp tiger....now that was a grind killing 1000's of one mob so every 50th one you killed dropped a trinket you could turn in for 5 rep btw you need 45000 rep for the tiger......now that was a grind.

  • That is what I am doing waiting I will buy the dlc even though I bitch about the money I wanna see how it turns out.. my only problem is the story itself. very bland start if you ask me. It may be the first chapter but still. James Patterson writes more details in his books and his chapters are like 1 to 2 pages long.

  • That is exactly why an fps'er won't stick around. It doesn't even come down to types of genre. There are so many people that actually don't have that kind of time to dedicate. Especially when a ton of other games are about to launch. They tried to appeal to everyone and ended up with space WoW with a halo combat system and a pvp.

  • You don't have to play that much.... If you want it all now then yeah your going to have to out your time in. If you don't care about having the best of the best gear.....then you can play a few hours a week and be fine. This has no time investment requirements. Run a few strikes a week and call it good.

  • You are so very correct. You have an option to take your time. It does have a little something for everyone. However there are a lot of people that have quit because of just that. A little something for everyone. I haven't played a ton of MMO's. I like rpg's and I like my fps's. I understand the grind of this game. However, because of how I've been conditioned for fast paced, and immediate satisfaction (even in some rpg's), this game is a struggle for me to rally behind at the moment. It absolutely isn't because I don't like it, or want to play. I'm dying to. I just can't stand the long term grind for a few things I'm required to get if I want to progress. I don't want to feel stagnant. I don't want to feel stagnant while actually progressing. I'm also an example of a minority that won't be able to play VoG. (I'd explain but no reason for a cry fest.) Which sucks because I hear it's epic and I'd love to try. I want to experience everything this game offers, and I just about have. Various game issues aside, I've just had to accept this game isn't for me even though I want it to be really bad. I have a feeling most of the other people that rage about every little thing feel the same way. They just don't see it's on themselves. Bungie wants to appeal to everyone. I understand but it takes more the a few thing mashed together. It needs more flow and coherence. A song takes many different things and is blended together with harmony. Destiny is blended but there isn't enough harmony, even if the individual elements are beautiful.
