Sounds like a great idea. I'd love some Warlock tips.

  • Everything? I just reached 20 last night. I've been playing for a little over a week, but I only really get to play a little each day, so the game is still very new to me. I'm still getting used to everything, trying to decide which weapons I like, learning PVP maps and experimenting with different skill tree combinations.

  • Well let's start by saying that most weapons have a lack in damage output compared to the auto rifle, but Bungie's working to tune that up so soon everything'll be useable. Warlock Pro's: - Pure DPS Sub-Class - Survival Sub-Class - High Grenade Damage - Fast W/ High Recovery - Glide - Survival Sub-Class Revive Special Warlock Con's: - Very Squishy (takes a good amount of damage) - Glide's hard to control/"master" - Little Survival outside Sunsinger Sub-Class - Voidwalker Sub-Class hard to master (whilst avoiding death) Play style: To keep this short, I'm going to do my SS play style, considering it's the highest survival and the best setup for MOST raid groups. As a Warlock you're naturally going to be susceptible to most attacks and being "overrun" without the right build or range (trust me, I've seen some baaaaad locks out there). Now that you understand that, you're going to want to decide if you want to go long range (assist's biggest priority in short) or follow a build and/or rotation that will allow you to get up close and personal for maximized damage. Either way, you're still going to be looking for unguarded cover any moment you get shot (whether you go to it or not is dependant on you and the situation) as your recovery is going to make your time behind that rock a whole lot shorter. Okay so we'll start with Long Range. Pro's: - Great Assistance to Team's - Little damage taken - High Armor/Recovery - High Survivability Con's: - Less Kills - Hard To Solo - No Second Chances (No teammates near, but this is counter able) So before we go into this, if you can't hit your target 90% of the time with the majority being a headshot, you may need to practise or forget about it all together. Now then, there's not to much to this build, aside from a few skill tweaks to give you assistance in survival on those forced close quarters fights if you still want to snipe/scout. For the build you're going to want Flame Shield, Arcane Spirit, Fireborn (Radiance buff), and Divine Order. The rest are personal preference. These skills will give you all you'll need to survive in a fight. This is actually the same build as my other play style but with a few more specifics. Anywho, with this you'll be able to melee and pop a shield up if you get flanked, and get to a new spot with no worry's of death. The Arcane Spirit and Divine order will give you your Armor and recovery at the cost of speed (sadly :/) but you won't be running as much as usual anyway. Finally, if everything goes to shit and you get blasted, save your special for Fireborn. This will allow you to use your special (radiance) on death and revive yourself. I don't even need to say how useful that is. Finally, our "up close and personal" setup. Pro's: - High Damage - High Survival - Good Solo & Group Build - Easy To Use & Master Con's: - Relies on CD's - Lacks Speed You're going to want to use the same build as before but this time you're going to want to add in Solar or Fusion grenade and angel of light. I personally use Fusion Grenade as it's great damage on bosses as boss mobs. Now, don't go rising into the heat of battle without your CD's. If they're still on hold, do damage from a safe distance. When they're ready, run in and let loose all hell. It's best to hit the mobs first to get your flame shield and if you're still good, go for the boss after (grenade time!) and keep pumping him until you're red, then gtfo and in cover again! If you have a special ready and a good group, hammer the boss with billets while strafing side to side behind cover. If/when you die, give it a second then pop Radiance an hammer the boss while you get to cover. If your stats are in strength you FS should be good to go again. As you can see, the survival relies off of radiance and Flameshield (melee). If you want to increase your total time for damage with survival, you can invest in some gear with Strength (and Intellect for radiance). There's my two cents :) I'll edit later.
