It's not their job to reply, so replying would be futile. Let them work, now you go play.

  • To acknowledge feedback replying is important. Especially when it comes to concerns. The community manager is employed to deal with stuff like this. Yes he has addressed concerns however the strikes and missions so far aren't even worth playing. To be honest the cave and random wars that occurred near it was the best fun I had in destiny since release.

  • Yes it is, but not to the devs. I was merely stating that they don't need to get into a debate on a forum with players when they have work to do. There are correct channels of approach and for a Dev to put a notice with chat comments disabled is not a slap in the face but a formality.

  • That is hardly relevant as the person we should be and would be communicating with would be the community manager Deej or maybe admin since they are hired to deal with this stuff. The devs may have wrote the notes but they wouldn't reply to comments about it, they would simply be informed by Deej. Ultimately it was the development teams notes and they would have sent it through to Deej/PR and simply addressed it from themselves (which is how it generally works). So yes you do have a small point however considering how businesses work it is an unrealistic point to make as it requires action that would not be taken from the Dev team to be relevant. So it is less of an earnest formality and more of PR damage control.

I think the problem here is that we have two totally different opinions on the extent of how game studios should act. It wouldn't bother me if they didn't pay any attention at all, considering they made the game. I trust that they have the statistics and testers that most probably come up with the same queries that we bring up on here. If they decide to go in a different direction, I believe it's up to them and a fan should just accept it, as it wasn't the fan that made it. You may find that opinion a little abrupt, but we are playing somebody else's vision.

  • I disagree. I paid for this game, so I am not just a fan but an unsatisfied consumer. I give them feedback freely because they request it not because I am a fanboy. Shutting up and accepting being ripped off with the game they gave us (cmon it has been quite a disappointment regardless of whether or not you actually enjoy the game) is very degrading to the way our economy runs. But I digress that is not the issue we are discussing. We are discussing whether fans should just accept what they are given regardless of the quality. That would be fine except we paid for it and ultimately are the ones who will determine whether this franchise succeeds or fails through our purchases. Therefore our feedback and tastes is the backbone for their business plan so while they can ignore our suggestions, it would be incredibly foolish (considering the outcomes from games such as Mass Effect 3 which has seen staff leave in droves and the deterioration of the developers as a whole). If they really just want to stick to their vision as you support you can look forward to Bungie following the same route with Activision as Bioware has with EA. We have seen the consequences play out before and I am determined not to let it happen again.

  • The difference here is that Bungie has a well established formula and playing in the crucible apart from a few over powered weapons, you can tell that they are on track to finding it again. Story wise, it was never their strong point to begin with, I'm interested to see where they go with it. I am a little disappointed that they never went with a set protagonist, I think it was a little brave of them having such an open world with so many unanswered questions. It's why the story is so hidden.

  • I am not arguing with the gameplay which is as you say well established (the crucible in terms of balance will be subject to tweaking but that is fine). Good game-play does not excuse Bungie ripping us off in almost every other area of Destiny. In regards to story however I think they have done far greater stories (action ones of course) in their previous titles and have enough experience to get it right in addition to mission structure. Also considering "become legend" was their catchphrase the story was almost literally the centerpiece of what they promised (considering what building and becoming legend means). Please don't try to build their absolutely lazy lack of story as something innovative, interesting or good. It isn't at all acceptable to be given such lack of content especially if you refer to my last point.

  • I can agree to the lack of content, but if you think about floor space there is a lot out there, the problem is there isn't anything in it. Everything is too vast it's like they worked so hard on the setting of the game but forgot the major part, the actual plot. Maybe somebody should introduce them to Aristotle and his seven parts to writing a great story.

  • I feel like I'm reading a Where's Wally book but instead of wally I am looking for Destiny's story. I know it is somewhere behind everything I just hope Bungie can pull it out and showcase it to everyone.

  • I just thought about starting a second character. I got to the second mission and turned it off. I was hoping second time around the story would jump out to me as I was just playing on my own so I could pay attention. They really have just thrown us all in a box and said fight. However I still say let them do as they will it's their game after all.

  • It is totally up to them what they do, I just hope they wise up and change before they destroy the franchise they sought to build. If they wont take feedback from the people who buy they game they are going to suffer for it.

  • That's why they should sort there multiplayer back and sort all there old fans out. All this grind nonsense in the campaign is pointless. Destiny would be great if chat was enabled and custom games were introduced plus a competitive ranking system.
