I read it as saying they are going to better communicate the possible contents of a collected engram. They specifically mentioned color so I guess they might be changing the color hierarchy of engrams so that it is different from those of weapons.

  • That might be even more confusing, the color system is alright; they just need to communicate the possibilities of engram decryption. Maybe more players would be less disappointed.

  • Players currently get a purple engram and expect a purple (legendary) reward. When they receive a reward of a lower value (read color) than the engram they decoded then "rage sharding of blues ensues". I see two ways they can better communicate the possible contents of engrams 1. Change the color hierarchy of the engrams so that players no longer associate this with the reward rarity level. 2. Adjust the drop rate for each color engram so that a blue engram always produces a blue reward and a purple engram always produces a purple reward etc. In my opinion this is the less desirable fix because this would mean you would almost never see purple and above engram drops anymore.

  • Agreed, although I'm not sure what that would use to substitute the color hierarchy. I agree that legendary engrams have a very real change of becoming as unseen as Sasquatch, if that's a fix they have in mind. I would like to hear what they would use to replace the color system. I can only hope it communicates the item decryption probability to the basic player in the most "Barney" terms possible.
