When you select the mission you can move the cursor over top of each of the heroic modifier symbols and they will tell you what each one does.

Hmmmm... when I tried it on my XB1 it didn't do squat.

Edited by DocterBlue: 9/23/2014 1:30:53 PMI haven't tried it for the Queen's mission, although I soloed one this morning. But I have done it when selecting either nightfall or the weekly heroic strike. You do it from the launch screen. The symbols are above the level indicator
