Everything I currently own I got through strikes, heroics, crucible, bounties and faction rep. Unfortunately I am at that place in my progression where I need ascendant shards to level my light. As I have already completed all the strikes and dailies, nor have the patience to sit through countless hours of crucible hoping something drops that I can use, I farm to get legendary gear to break it down.
Does that make me less of a gamer that enjoys this game less than you?
*Edit* I would like to say that I did not begin to farm until last night, already having reached 27.

Well idk if you enjoy shooting at a hole, but have fun. And I don't remember saying anyone here was less of a gamer? Also if you do the raid it gives you like 9 ascendant material, also dong the daily everyday and finding a public event will give you at least another 4 ascendant material each day.

It was incredible, definitely give it a try. You can only get the chest rewards (which are mostly ascendant materials) once a week but it is definitely a new challenge. Took us about 6 hours total.
