191 hrs of game time with a lvl 33 cryptarch, Still not a single exotic to be seen!
Hey all,
The title is self explanitory, Have been playing destiny non stop since the release with minimal sleep. I enjoy the game beyond comprehension and am more than happy with it. I honestly don't remember the last time I stumbled upon a video game so addictive.
However there is one very dissapointing thing, Still not one exotic decrypted from legendary engrams when everyone and anyone around me seems to be finding them or at least found some before they've reached my level. Either I'm extremely unlucky or there's something wrong with the rng whenever I go to decrypt something legendary.
Now in all honesty I'm going to be extremely blunt here by saying I definitely feel like I'm being cheated by bungie. I've had to resort to farming purely for the reason of attempting to source my own legendary engrams to hopefully decrypt into something exotic with still no luck.
Someone please tell me you're in the same position as me...
I have no spirit left to play the game all I need is that little spark of hope and by saying this I mean a damn exotic already.
Red death, hard light, or suros regime would be fantastic right about now.
I for one am not the person to make topics or posts like these on the forums but I just needed to share my awful luck to see how many are in the same boat. If for any chance something is wrong can a bungie employee please rectify the situation.
I feel as though I deserve one by now.

2 RepliesThis is where people get confused , when decrypting a legendary engram, the highest item you could get is legendary. It says so in the description.

Helpful hint: Instead of engaging in the lottery, get a real job. (AKA instead of relying on RNG, do your bounties or farm for coins to actually get exotics)

Wow ... I thought I was unlucky.. I've had around 12 purple engrams without any luck. Yesternight I got a pair of boots (but not for my class.. No worries, I'm levelling an all to fit them), and today, I got Final Boss, a legendary Sniper Rifle. I did, however, just get an exotic bounty, whereupon I went for a secondary weapon.. So 2 secondaries of rare+ quality.

I bought 3 from xur and 3 from bounties one from a legendary engram.

Mate my first 4 legendaries turned out good but now my legendaries turn to rares, the best I get is strange coins and mote of light from my rares If I get armour from my rares I get like +2 light which sucks....

It may be more, I received 3 legendary engrams at the post office yesterday and can't remember if I counted them. Now it has given me 1 legendary cloak for a titan and both sets of legendary gauntlets for the warlock however I am a HUNTER-and that's the only legendary stuff it's given me. Therefore, nothing I could even begin to use. At least with the blue, rare, engrams I occasionally get useable items. I swear I have a better chance of getting a lvl 20 weapon, strange coin, ascendant shard etc from a rare than I have of getting any of that from a legendary. In fact, I have NEVER received anything from a legendary that I did not have to disassemble-the cloak and gauntlets for other classes withstanding. I did stick them in the vault for possible later use, but as for my current character, thus far 0-16 on anything I could use. I mean, how much sapphire wire (over 150 at last check) and weapons parts (over a 100 at last check) am I actually going to need? Not too mention, I get plenty of that from unneeded rares and uncommons. Do I really need more from the legendary??? I'm at the point I don't even want to see one of those purple bast**ds even show up. I'd rather have the blue-at least then I might get something I could use like a strange coin (have gotten 6 from rare's over the last 2 days-far beating anything from legendary) or possibly even a lvl 20 weapon I don't yet have, which I did get 2 of those yesterday. Legendary??? - you can keep them.

Just going to post this to make you feel like crap. A few days ago my buddy hit level 20. A day later, even though I'm full legendary/exotic from pvp, I took him to the Hive/Loot Cave. Was there for about 30 or 40 minutes. I got nothin but blues and greens. My buddy got a legendary chest piece engram. He went to turn it in, got the exotic chest piece The Armamentarium. Guy is walking around in a full set of blues rocking an exotic chest piece. Was totally jelly. So ya, sounds like you've just had bad luck. But don't quit, there's hope, just keep at it, and do your bounties.

My first 2 legendary engrams taunted me... one opened into a warlock band (I'm leveling a hunter(26) and a titan(7)) then the second one opened into an exotic for a titan. I had been trying to level my hunter past level 24 for like 3 days. so i decided to try to get strange coins instead 6 from a strike 3 from previous weekly 2 from public events and and 3 from engrams got me my lucky raspberry chest piece!

Why didn't you buy something from Xur? With all of your accumulated time, surely you have enough Strange Coins and Motes of Light to get something.

2 RepliesEdited by Spartan Ken 15: 9/22/2014 1:41:37 PMIt is all RNG, it is possible, though highly improbable, for you to NEVER see any exotic gear from engrams because it is random. The only "guaranteed" legendary and exotic armors are from factions and Xur.

3 RepliesWith that amount of game time you should of easily had enough motes of light or strange coins to buy an exotic from Xur and easily had enough rep to buy legendarys with marks... I am going to be blunt...If you rely on getting all your gear from engram drops from mobs then that is your fault that you have no decent exotic or legendarys =/.
