Only the strong survive? What so we should make the very first gun you find in the game and make it just as powerful as someone who busted their asses looking for an exotic weapon? The weapon stats don't even play a part in this other then the changes in the rate of fire, impact and so on. If you have a weapon with the same attack and impact as someone you're fighting against but they have a higher rate of fire you're gonna get hit more and die. If you have a weapon with the same rate of fire but have a lower impact then you're going to die. The exception here is if you think about your movements and don't give them the advantage that they have that you don't. As for armor? It's just a cosmetic choice right now what affects your defense and recovery is your skill tree/ Subclass and it's effect on the armor, recovery, agility that you gain.

 • I got my hand cannon from the crucible and I got an exotic shotgun from an exotic bounty. The exotic bounty alone was a pain in the ass and costed me 12k glimmer.

 • Have the shotty too. So your saying if u are up against a common shotgun your auto shotty isn't gonna destroy them?

 • Yeah but that's not cause its stronger, it's because it's abilities are crazy. Also the full auto is not perfect. It's recoil is crazy. Looking at it this way, is my armor op because I can punch quicker?

 • Not OP. Just not exactly fair. I have had some great games. I think all that matters is the balance between gear throughout a team. For instance how much fun would it be to play a match and everyone opposing had decked out arsenals and your rocking uncommons.

 • So? It's still skill based. I've see uncommons with "third eye" allowing to player to continually see their radar while aiming.

 • I guess. What about rate of fire?

 • Then all you need to do is find a fast shooting gun. That's not like exotics are better in all stats. Find what works for you. You'll win some and lose some. One day I played 5 games of rumble and won them all. Then the next day I won like 1 and got wrecked in a few.

 • By camping the cave you mean getting a constant stream of greens and the very rare blue and almost non existent purple? Blues and purples I might add that aren't even guaranteed to give you the rare for blue or legendary for purple?

 • Yes that's exactly what I mean.

 • You obviously missed the sarcasm there. People can spend hours there and only end up with a few blue and if they're extremely lucky purple, but when they go back to decrypt them they end up getting green or blue items instead of the blue and purple items they want, it takes a long time to actually get something useful from farming that so called "treasure" cave

 • About the chances you have of getting blue or purple? Or the fact blues and purples don't always give you blue or purple equips. Because that's all from experience. This game doesn't give you better equips for beating harder mobs, so someone that kills phogoth 100 times has as much of a chance to get legendary equips as someone who kills thralls 100 times. The engrams are also based on luck with people getting greens from blues. Blues from purples or just mats. You can experience all this without farming that cave

 • I don't farm caves. It sounds like you do is what I'm saying

 • And I do at times to get weapon parts or upgrade material, I don't stand there for hours on end waiting for a legendary to drop at most i spend some 15-20 minutes there. All I'm saying is that farming no matter if you stand there near that cave or running around killing things has the same chance to drop something as somewhere else you're just killing the same amount over a smaller time period. The whole reason this farming conversation came up is because you brought it up as a sarcastic comment for me saying people bust their asses for exotic or legendary equips. All 4 of my exotic equipment was gotten through me playing through the crucible and weekly heroics for strange coins and buying them ( my exotic Hunter chest piece, and exotic Titan helmet ) by completing an exotic bounty that had me doing multiple tasks ( my exotic hand cannon ) or myself playing crucible match after crucible match in order to get them ( my exotic sniper ). Exotics and legendary weapons may be better in crucible but not because the weapon attack is ridiculously high, but because they have attributes that make them exotic or legendary and give them effects that make them legendary or exotic. A shotgun with an attack of 20 and an impact of 20/100 will do the same amount of damage in the crucible as a legendary or exotic shotgun with an attack of 400 and an impact of 20/100. Weapon attack doesn't matter, what matters in the crucible is the rate of fire, impact, stability, range, and reload speed. Same goes with armor, the amount of defense you have on your character doesn't affect the gameplay. If a character has a total defense of 100 but their subclass gives them armor at 20/100 they'll have the same amount of durability in the crucible as someone who has a total defense of 1000 and a subclass armor stat of 20/100 The reason legendary and exotic gear is unfair as you said is because that's what it is legendary and exotic gear it should be better than a common weapon otherwise it would just be common as well. However they don't play such a big impact as you're saying the only thing they may add as an advantage would be like a legendary shotgun firing in full auto, but all that would do is increase their rate of fire not damage, it's the perk of having something better then common and uncommon weapons.

 • Hit the nail on the head! The treasure cave is frustrating and the decoding if engrams is infinitely more frustrating. I get 6 legendary engrams and come away with 1 primary and the rest are rare and uncommon with stats beneath my current build. It's such a joke. And don't even get me started on the lack of rewards for beating an insane mob or strike. The loot system is borderline pathetic.

 • Yea they really need to fix the loot. I mean why is it that I have as much of a chance at finding a legendary or exotic drop from a lvl 2 Dreg as I do from completing the weekly heroic strike and spending all that time killing those bullet sponges ( Phogoth ). Really the reason so many people are farming those caves is because there is no point in doing strikes when you get no reward for killing the bullet sponge at the end.
