Edit: damn phone Your forgetting the biggest issue, this farming isn't producing results like the things you've mentioned nor are they being farmed in any manner the same. We are talking about people completing endgame gear off of beginner enemies, name a raid game or mmo that allows or encourages that. Can't? Well no duh. It would be different if you were talking people using items to farm that cave for glimmer or level6 weapons to turn in to weapon parts. But this is not that kind of farming your talking about. This is people shooting in a whole without risk of any kind for hours on end and getting to max gear level. That's not an intentional mechanic and that by far outreaches any mmo/raid farming effects implemented in any functional game thus far. I am used to farming, but I also understand an exploit and massive oversight when I see one.

  • That's why higher level enemies on harder difficulties should have higher chances to drop good loot ! Until this happens cave farming will be viable because currently there are people doing the raid and winding up with NOTHING same goes for Nightfall and Lvl 24 strikes!

  • This is why I leave my player dancing in the "loot cave" with a rubber band on the controller while I work. It is an exploit, and a very cheap and cowardly tactic.

  • this is not an exploit, the game rewards you for doing what you want to do, you want to play crucible, here, after every game, you have a chance, plus we give marks and rep so that if you don't get anything you can buy it. do you like strikes, raids, patrol missions, story missions, everything you do has a chance to give endgame gear, I think thats really awesome. I've done the cave, I admit it, but I get bored after like 20 minutes, and go and do a strike or something, my light level is bought, with vanguard marks, I got the last word from an engram I got for a strike, and the other legendaries came from random blue engrams, oh, and one legendary auto rifle for reaching vangaurd 3, I have an exotic chest piece for my warlock I bought from xur, and 2 exotic bounties I'm working on completeing that I got for turning in bounties, I've been rewarded for playing every aspect of the game, so shut about people that amuse themselves shooting into a cave, and then laugh at them when they're too stupid to notice when they're about to get swarmed cause the game says you need to be attacked by lots of low enemies that can still kick your behind, or the warsat crushes them, I love that one, five guardians down cause they didn't think to move away from the landing point of the warsat.

  • But that's how it's been designed , the loot system has been built so stuff can be dropped from any enemy of any level, a friend of mine had a legendary engram drop from a lv12 shank he killed on a patrol, it's no different. It's the system working as intended, not an exploit. If it was the devs would just patch it and be done with it. Not to mention that most people doing this already have legendary gear, so lv6 or lv16 none of them are a threat.

They patched the horribly broken Xur Strange Coin trade exploit immediately on Friday, so fast, in fact, that people were complaining they didn't even get a chance to use it legitimately. They are patching things. Granted, maybe they're not patching things people want patched, but it doesn't necessarily mean said things need to be patched, i.e. cave "exploit," Blade Dancer and Defender supers, and so on. I, personally, have never used the cave "exploit" and never plan to. IMHO it's a waste of valuable time, effort, and there's better, more enjoyable, easier and faster ways to get guaranteed good gear. However, this is a game where you're supposed to play and do whatever you feel like, so to each their own; unless they're truly cheating and exploiting the game and it's system, I don't really care. Whatever gets them there.

  • There was an option Xur had to trade Glimmer for Strange Coins (but it was only one coin). An exploit was found where you could create a new character and trade for coins, bank them, then repeat the process. Obviously that's a little game breaking, so they patched out the option all together.

  • But you're forgetting the counter to the endgame gear from beginner enemies...the Cryptarch. He is also the one who gets the legendary engrams from impossible enemies and gives you some uncommon boots.

  • Looking at your score card... Yeah, I don't want to run into scrubs during raids. Anything to slow y'all down so y'all can learn helps.

  • raids dont have a matchmaking. If you "run into scrubs" it will be you inviting them. maybe, idk, play with people before raiding with them?
