I bought mine for the 360 and the only mention of a transfer for me was for the digital download, and even then, there was no mention of content. now, as you make an account when you first start the game, I would assume any items you get are account bound. Now, if we've gone to the tower, which we all have, we'll notice a vendor to the left titled "deliveries" or something of the like. now, please correct me if im wrong because theres a good chance I am, but any account-bound items we'd recieve would be there, yeah? Now, as far as getting a next-gen copy of your physical game, that sounds like an in-store offer from gamestop or wherever he bought it. if he kept the reciept, which I hope he did, then they should be able to help him out. then he can return the copy he bought. otherwise...y'know...ouch? be damned if im spending 200 on a single game lol.
