As for your friend? I have no idea what he should do. Where do you see the "keep your stuff when you upgrade to nextgen" thing?

At the bottom of the page it says your guardians, progress, stats, and gear carry over when you make the switch to next gen

But that's the digital upgrade though. Did he use a disk? Or maybe use a different account? Or maybe not link his account to (the site? By that I mean bungie.net? I dunno)

I am that person. I got the limited edition for PS3 and made the switch to PS4 on the 18th of September. The Vanguard Armory and Expansion Pass carried over, but it says i need the collectors edition to use the Ghost Casing, Emblem, and Ship Variant which came with my limited edition. I paid $195 for the limited edition and the my PS4 copy of the game yet i can't use my casing. apparently people have to buy the limited edition or digital Guardian edition twice ( once for PS3 and once for PS4 ) in order to use them. it's stupid. they state that your guardians, progress, stats, and GEAR carry over yet they forget to mention that you need a certain copy of the game to use your DLC. it's complete bullshit

...try putting it in the vault? (I honestly don't know maybe those codes are one time only. At least the expansion carried over though. But I honestly don't know what to do to help you. Maybe it's a glitch. Call customer support?)

I did try the vault. I can put it in my inventory or put it in the vault, but i cant use it. i would call customer support but it's impossible to find a number. All there so call " contact us or help " don't list a number. They just tell you to try the forums or to search the error code or check the frequently asked questions. They lack basic customer service. they clearly don't give a shit about their fans and are just milking money from people by making them buy really expensive editions of the game multiple times just to use DLC.

Involving a preorder bonus and one very confused cashier and a misplaced email. Literally they were like "oh you preordered you get your bonuses when it comes out" then it was "OH ITS IN YOUR EMAIL" never found it. Then my game got fudged up. Just chill take a breather. The expansion pass saves you money at least. (Honestly I don't know what else to say just relax. Think about what could have happened. Perhaps a server glitch, maybe it's in the post master. Did you use the same email/account name for both consoles? Maybe it that. Take time to think of all the possibilities as to why it's not working)
