Really? Sure it's easier to kill one person with the Titan or Warlock super. It's easier for noobs to kill one person with Titan or Warlock super. But, noobs aren't the issue here when we talk about balancing issues I assume we are talking about skill against skill. If you have a little talent and skill you can kill far more people much more regularly with Hunter super than the other two classes. The only people arguing against a Blade Dancer nerf are Hunters. I wonder why? I'm not crying Bungie has to fix this though it's no sweat I'm planning on making a Hunter to run in Crucible. Crucible is turning into Hunters vs. Hunters I might as well embrace it. Hunter only Crucible will get Bungie to nerf Blade Dancer faster than anything else.

  • actually man if the titans use there attack right the have the strongest and they can get the most kill there is no hieght cap on the titans death slam no matter how high you are above them if there isnt a full wall between you you die plus in many match there a enemies clustered together and playing as a team assiting and killing together if a hunter approaches them with blade dancer he may get one oe two before they team kill him the gunslinger will get on maybe two if he is really really luck or catches them off gaurd the titan can just rush and kill them all at once and god forbid he catches them unawares then all four five hell maybe even six killed one go no chance

  • A Bladedancer up against 2 or more skilled enemies at a time is screwed. You have extra health, but not enough to withstand enemies who and jumping backwards and sideways while headshotting you. If you activate it at the wrong time you'll either get no kills because it doesn't last long enough to find people or you'll get teamed and destroyed. I admit it's easy to get triple flag kills in close range if you do it right, but it's even easier with the other two classes. I could also make a point about how pitiful the Blink Strike is compared to your shoulder charge but since this is about Supers I won't.

  • I'm not a fan of the shoulder charge either. Why were you checking me out? Does my class or skill somehow change what I said? Yes you can kill a Blade Dancer if your skilled enough and have backup but only if the Hunter makes a mistake and activates with a lot of ground to cover. Usually, when a Hunter does this it's as a panic response because he was getting shot before he triggered.

  • i kill blade dancing fools alone all the time one knife throw to the face done one quick scope sniper round done lure them of a cliff done stick them with a grenade done shoot them TWICE with my revolver done people give blade dancers so much hell but i play a gunslinging hunter the easiest class to kill and when i see someone blade dance i laugh they cant kill me unless the are right in my face or the catch me unawares now however titans kill me all the time with thier smash from the ground after i have lept from a roof triple jumped and im like 100ft over them and their stupid smash is just one floor to ceiling collum of death now tell me how is that fair compared to my super which is basicly a frakking needle of death and if i mess up and miss or you slide or you track my shot and side step it (btw gunslinger golden gun shot travel very slow compared to other bullets and if you know what to look for you can see it and dodge it everytime pending that you can move left or right ) then im dead you you just smash death in a 360 degree circle that takes a whole lot of skill

  • Checked your class because I was curious, nothing more. I wasn't trying to target you specifically. The thing is, a Hunter has to make sure that he is not too far away before activating, that he is not too close (otherwise he'll get killed in the transition state) and that his enemies don't have a better position than him. Only if he can check off all of these will he be able to get a triple on the flag or similar. However with the other two classes, all that needs to be done to enemies in a cluster is a jump then R1 + R2. No risk involved, especially for the Titan who seems invincible during the Super. When there's risk involved in a game, there's gonna be reward. To do well with the Bladedancer's super you need to activate it at the perfect moment to be effective - therefore since there is skill and risk involved there is potential for great reward. So far I've found the Supers to be balanced. Some require more skill to use than others, but those also have the ability for greater amounts of kills.

  • I also wanted to note. The only way a Titan can get a triple is if there are 3 complete morons on the other team dumb enough to group together and slow enough not to jump back.

Let's do a case study checking out both of our crucible stats. You have 1.37 K/D, and I have a 1.77 K/D. I'm not saying that makes me better that's a different argument. I have 9 total triple kills (that's counting everything supers, grenade, heavy, etc.) and you have 9 triple kills with your supers alone in 30 fewer matches. This doesn't count all the variables but it should at least make you think.

  • What that means is that I'm one of the Bladedancers/Gunslingers who will save their super over several lives and wait for the perfect moment where I know I can get the triple kill. As for skill I do consider myself a skilled player, although I know my K/D doesn't reflect it. I had a 1.9 KD during the beta, not that it's quite relevant to our argument. My number of triple kills is in fact mostly made up of my Gunslinger triples, as I haven't been a BD for long. It speaks more of my patience and execution than of how good the class is.

  • Your 4 Blade Dancer to 5 Gunslinger triples furthers my point if you haven't been running the Blade Dancer long. What you say about patience and execution may be true. There is no way to prove that (patience and execution is what is know as a unquantifiable variable) but the numbers tell a story that can't be logistically argued against. Every Hunter will argue based on unquantifiable variables (such as patience, execution, skill, etc.). But, when a large enough sample size is taken and the stats show a trend (such as the one I pointed out) the unquatifiable variables get rendered null by the unquantifiable variables on both sides.

  • yes he can prove that that is a reward of patience and skill i see blade dancers heck even gunslinger pop the super to early and not find anyone to kill also ive seen them pop it to late and get team massacered before they can even finish the transformation heck ive even seen people pop it only to be take out by a sniper just as soon as they do and lose their super all together this doesnt happen for titans or warlocks they pop their super and it goes of instantly with instant reward requiring no further skill than mashing a button the reason hunters APPEAR to be so over powered is because skilled players have relized that with patience and skill the hunter is a VERY deadly oppontnent super or no the hunter awards skill the titan awards aggression and the worlock awards players who play supportively this is how the classes were developed to play and its not our fault that your beefy tank falls prey to our skill also there is a simple explantation as to why more triples fast with blade dancer and it stuidly obvious he spent fifteen+ lvls learning that hunter specials are finiky things requiring perfect timing patience and some semblence of a plan and not just charging in hoping for kills

  • I believe that although the mindset of a player is unquantifiable, it is the defining factor in the playstyle of that character. All the Hunters I know follow the precision mindset of their class in saving their supers for the right moment to get the triple. However since a Titan is not really focused on precision, a Titan will probably be less likely to wait for the perfect time. This would create your large trend in Hunters getting triples while more Titans will settle for doubles. Also do you not believe that in fact a Hunter should get more triples or just more Super kills in general than a Titan? With less armour than a Titan we need extra firepower and mobility during the Super to balance it out. It's the same with the Warlock's frail armour but immensely damaging grenades/supers.

  • I knew you were going to do that. That is the weakest and most illogical argument there is but I guess it's the only one left for you. So your saying every patient, skilled, etc. player is just some how through some undefinable force is pushed towards being a Hunter? You do know that is idiotic right? That's the equivalent of saying smart people drive Chevrolet and dumb people drive Ford. It's an illogical fan boy argument with no facts to back it up. Study show people choose things for all kinds of reasons most have nothing to do with any kind of personality or behavioral pattern. For example: I flipped a coin to decide between a Hunter or Titan for my first character. So in your final paragraph do you concede that the Hunter's super is the most powerful? Also there is no perfect time to use supers left for Warlocks or Titans. Smart players have learned not to group together within the blast radius of those supers. There is no such tactic to limit the effectiveness of Blade Dancer or Golden Gun but at least Golden Gun doesn't get the huge health boost. The trade off you mentioned was supposed to be agility or armor (as stated by Bungie) not OP super, and agility or armor (as stated by everyone that isn't a Blade Dancer).

Read before you comment. Also, you are clearly a patient and meticulous person based off of your use of punctuation and capitalization. Everything about your statement screams adolescent male with ADD and they are well known for their patience.

  • I didn't say patient players decide to play Hunter. I said that, of the people IRL I know who play Hunter, all of them try to be precise and patient because that is what is expected of someone playing the class. I also did not say I believe it is the best. I certainly think it is one of the best in the right hands, but by no means OP. You seem to think there is no tactic to counter Bladedancer. Any situation where you have more than say 10 metres distance from one will allow you to either avoid the Bladedancer by jumping out of stab range to a higher position, or drawing him off your team long enough for them to lose the ability to kill any others in your team after you. You're being premature in calling me a fanboy. I played all 3 classes in the beta and decided I liked the Hunter the most. I'm playing Titan Defender next. I'm not basing my argument on the fact that I like Bladedancer, but rather that I don't think it's OP. Maybe you should play as one for a while before judging it. Also, if you have your super charged you will beat the Bladedancer without a doubt, unless you are a Sunsinger or in some situations a Defender. I'm also still not sure what about the super you think is overpowered. You've stated the health boost, but surely you don't think that needs nerfing, as I've found it reasonably easy to 2v1 headshot enemy Bladedancers. Maybe the mobility aspect of it? I'm pretty sure mobility is the entire point of Bladedancer. You're actually one of the only people I've heard of complaining about the Bladedancer. You don't need to believe what I say, have a read of some similar arguments on Reddit etc. I've read quite extensively on the subject and seen many other classes saying that it's not OP.

  • Please bring something to the argument other than your beliefs and feelings. Try using some logic and stats in your argument something actually tangible. Also I never said you were a fan boy just saying you were making the typical fan boy argument based off of beliefs, feelings, and assumptions.
There is no Santa. I know you believe and feel there is but I have proof he is make believe. *slides photos of the North Pole* See nothing but penguins there.
• Have fun trying to measure the game based on stats alone with no thought toward the metagame or how people play. Also, I know you feel the need to assert what semblance of maturity you think you have by referring to me in a patronising manner, but I'm afraid it just alludes to your own insecurity - and please do not tell me to 'bring something to the argument' when I specifically asked you what you thought was OP and you chose not to respond. Take some time to yourself, cool down, read some other opinions on the matter. I'm done arguing this moot point when I could be playing or working.

  • I'm sorry but no argument can be made based on beliefs and feelings it just doesn't work. So, I didn't feel like your post deserved a point by point response. We aren't trying to measure some intangible like fun. We are talking about something that can be clearly defined by stats and that is does being a Hunter provide statistical advantage and all the facts say yes. You can choose to believe what ever you want or need to but that doesn't change facts. This argument is mute though because Bungie will be force to nerf it when nothing but Hunters are left in Crucible. Which if you have been in there lately they are already the vast majority. I'm doing my part by making a Hunter tonight.

  • People play hunter because it's badass. I hope once you unlock Bladedancer you'll realise that it's fine as it is. If you do find it to be OP, post a video that contains the concrete 'proof' you're so fond of. I'll be looking forward to it. (Btw I played Crucible for about an hour this morning and had an average of 2-3 Hunters in my team including me. That's very slightly over what you would expect.) Also just so you know, moot ≠ mute. It was fun talking to you.

  • Please tell me how that was hard? or because of his skill and execution? The range and the timer are far to long the Blade Dancer should have no larger movement range than a Titan or Warlock's super blast radius to balance it.

  • Did you miss how close the first guy was to killing him? Or just how plain bad the other two players were? They ran at him, what did you expect to happen? One shot from a sniper or shotgun would have done it, but the first chose to spray and move towards him, and the second was completely clueless. Also this was posted 2 days after the game came out, when not many people would be expecting a Bladedancer to appear, especially not with all the abilities he has.

He got hit with a sliver of health at 10 seconds and it barely moves the health bar down. The first guy was already shooting him while triggered and had him dead to rights but his super bailed him out. Also, Blade Dancer move so fast and are so jerky it's hard to keep track of them in first person even more so on a close quarters map like the one in the video. Not to mention the wide field of view you get in 3rd person helps.

  • Got hit with 2 bullets, not even to the head, at 10s. Not exactly dishing out the damage. There's no problem killing a Bladedancer with a shotgun. Just fire it somewhere high on the body then melee just before they melee you. It's happened to my friends a lot and I've done it to several enemy bladedancers. Reserve your opinion until you've played it for a while, or come up against one with a shotgun.

  • Now your just making shit up how do you know where he got hit? Show me a still shot of him not getting hit in the head. You want to speculate sure let's do it was sniper in the face it's obvious because reasons. The point is this if you have no health and no shield if you get hit by anything you should be dead. That is what is suppose to make escaping near death impressive and fun. If a Blade Dancer attacks you heads up when you have a shotgun when he can easily maneuver into your flanks he's an idiot. Like I said from the start when considering balancing issues it should be done for skill versus skill.
