We all hate that. Sometimes it felt like my team and i were purposly being given lame items from legendary engrams just to keep us away from the vault of glass. I bought a unique from Xur today & i'm closing in on enough crucible marks to buy a full set of legendary. Don't mind grinding but when 10 outta 10 legendary engrams become worse gear than what i'm using makes the grind no fun at all. You finally get that purple engram to drop.. but deep down you know whats gonna happen when you take it to the cryptarch.
