I didn't think of this as a story-first game. I thought you might have been expecting a fully immersive story based on your first comment. I expected a MP centered game with story and co-op being complimentary not front and center. My only complaint is lack of chat. I don't get the overall disappointment that some people are experiencing. I think they are feeling a bit too entitled. The games is weak on story, but its not horrible. Sorry to group you in that category.

No worries. I didn't expect the game to be everything to everyone, but there are fundamental things we've grown accustomed to over the last 5 years that we expect in games today. That's what really grinds my gears. In game friends lists and chat just seems like such an obvious requirement to me. There feels like a massive disconnect between what was marketed, developed, and what players actually want - and bungie's lack of responsiveness to those asks (dating back to the alpha) just ratchets up the frustration. I wouldn't be this vocal about my perspective of the shortcomings if I didn't feel all that untapped potential just begging to be let out in the game. Everyone just deals with disappointment differently. Some get mad, some make cynical comments, some sugar coat everything and pretend there is nothing wrong, and some can focus on the good to the point where they can forgive the bad. I'd love to be in that last category... but I'm still in 1 or 2. ;)

I feel ya. I'm not saying this is a 10 out of 10 game. Its got flaws. Luckily I think most of the flaws can be handled in a patch. We shouldn't have to wait until Destiny 2.
