Thats a Blast, almost female logic.. well how about the extreme Negatve Reviews http://www.gamecritics.com/brad-gallaway/destiny-review are they also "spot on" because they are not "mainstream" ?

13 RepliesI just turned 29. Been playing games since I was 6. Been reading gaming magazines (EGM, Gamepro, Ultra Game Player, Game Informer, Expert Gamer, more I can't think of) and some online media stuff (IGN, Gamespot, Metacritic links, etc.) up until about 5 years ago. Now, I read none of that junk. Apparently I get a Game Informer subscription with my Gamespot Power Up membership, but I don't even kno if it's being sent to the right address, and I don't care. Why do I say this? Because I've been around this hobby enough to know that "game reviewers" are the must useless people there are. They were useful before the internet ballooned and the only way to get coverage of a game was through gaming magazine. Now we have tens of thousands of gamers we can share our opinions with on forums and social media, downloadable demos, beta access, YouTube, Twitch.tv, and so on. Not only are their opinions not relevant anymore, but they're crap. Most of them are not good gamers. They're psuedo-hipsters with an Associates Degree in English, and on top of that their writing is generally bad which is kinda funny actually (say hi, Gies!). More importantly, the environment they review games aren't like the ones most gamers exist in. We don't get games for free, we don't have to play through an entire game with our jobs on the line because of a deadline, and, face it, none of these reviewers possess the skills, if they exist at all, to be able to be an authority on what's good or what isn't. Reviews are all subjective opinions coming from people who aren't as good at playing games as the people they're writing for, and are forced to play these games under such stressful deadlines that playing the game isn't about fun, but turns into a job not unlike cleaning the fyer at McDonald's. Is that who you use to base your opinion on something? Think about it.

2 Repliespretty incredible that it needed spelling out ........... me , my dad and my younger brother have been a solid fireteam since day 1 , we do the daily strike together and the weekly strikes with strike playlists , patroles , freeroaming etc etc on a daily basis my number 1 gaming experience to date here are my gaming credentials lol ( my dad is a gamer so they have been in my life pretty much since birth ) atari 2600 intellivision commidor 64 amiga 600-1200 sega mastersystem gameboy ( and color version ) n64 ps1,ps2,ps3 gaming laptop ( lotro and total war games ) ps vita Destiny is the game i have always wanted to play , STOKED for the ride ;)

26 RepliesI feel like people on console have never played an MMO style game before. The whole point is for the game/story to expand as you play. This month we are getting more story dealing with the queen and everyone bitches and complains about not having enough story. Halo was beaten in 1 day on Legendary and then only had matchmaking after that.... no one complained about that. Destiny comes and people still haven't done everything in it yet and still don't have the best gear and still haven't beaten the raid on hard mode. Not only that but the iron banner event has not even come yet. There is so much fun to be had in this game and everyone just want's to judge it because they are being forced to play the game and have fun longer instead of rushing through it only to play matchmaking for the rest of the game instead of the story.

His review in progress was fun to follow, especially when he started hardcore swooning over the game around day 7. :-) Except, probably not a good move to say things like "everyone can shut up", or whatever he said. Haha... that's a wee childish for a pro journalist on a popular website.

21 RepliesI disagree completely. The script is full of lazy writing. "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain." That is a blatant misstep! You're writing the damn script, your job is to explain! "How did the Awoken survive?/ No one knows." And no one cares to find out? We never ask? We just walk away thinking "ok, cool, whatever." Again, it's your job, as the author, to flesh that out. Another lazy bit of writing that breaks down the strength of the story. "I could tell you stories of the great battles." Yeah, you could. And we should want to find out about those stories, because guess what? Everyone playing wants to know that too! And yet, again, we just walk off saying "ok- what's shiny?" When I buy a game that promises a great story, that's what I expect. A complete, fleshed out story. The DLC, that we will also have to pay for, should supplement that story, but not be integral to its telling. That is, again, lazy writing. It is rife with opportunity to be immersive, complete, gripping and tantalizing, but it denies this potential at every turn. That said! I love playing this game. It's the most fun I've had in a long time. But sadly, that is despite the story, not because of it.

And remember bungie set these benchmarks, bungie asked for feedback during the Alpha & Beta ... and then chose to change nothing and thus are now failing to meet their own benchmark. Happy for bungie to claim the reviews are wrong ... but bungie set these benchmarks and the timeframe in which they would be achieved ... this is failing by your own standard.

2 RepliesIn my opinion, I am glad they haven't released everything all at once due to the fact people will get tired and bored with it to quick. While when we have to wait we will be at the edge of our seats waiting happily as we can't contain the joy we have for the game. I loved the story the pvp and everything. The game is well made and I stick by my answer regardless what many others may feel about it or whatever its my opinion.
