It's not always that easy, I've dismantled more than a few of my favorite crucible weapons (since damage doesn't matter in the crucible, what you like to use does). Also what OP said, you kinda just go autopilot and dismantle everything.

I've had no issues because I take my time. I get it though. I've auto pilot at work and messed up.
