Do you even clan bro? Every single time I've logged on to destiny since launch I've played with people. Cause I'm in a clan with people I really enjoy playing with. There's so many tools on this website and others to meet people to play with. I'm actually kind of craving some silent, solo play time because since launch I've been talking while playing non stop. Don't complain and be depressed when you haven't taken advantage of any of the social tools available to you

The internet and part chaty are available for everything. That doesn't mean that Destiny's system isn't weird and prohibitive to a degree that's far greater than literally any other multiplayer game I've ever played. Most of the people on these forums seem like jackasses that I wouldn't enjoy playing with. I don't want to start adding people to my friends list that I don't know I can get along with. Other games have never asked me to. Pretending this isn't a shitty problem that'll slowly kill the game is just bizarre and confusing to me.

  • Errr maybe put a half hour or work in to find a clan of like minded individuals? I'm fairly biased against OP post though cause like I said, I've yet to be alone in this game for more than half an hour. I do agree that I would love to scream at the other team after my clan and I crush them into dust in the crucible

  • It's a core problem for a huge chunk of the playerbase, even if it's one you managed to avoid. Why do you care if an optional system that would improve the game for others is implemented? Also, I dislike your idea. It serves no benefit at all to allow chat exclusively for trash talk at the end of a match. Being able to talk to your team during a match would reduce some of the imbalance between teams of people like you and teams of people like me.

  • Ya Id have no problem if they implement it. Adding more features to the game is something I'll never be against. My reply was more to highlight the fact that it's not that hard to avoid this so called big problem you bring up. In the process of using the social tools available you might get some added benefits of using them as well. Like being in a clan, making friends and experiencing Destiny like Bungie truly intended it to be experienced.

  • I just dislike having to actually leave a game to be able to do a bunch of other random shit before being able to 'experience Destiny like Bungie truly intended it to be experienced.' Part of my issue is that they don't explain the lack of chat anywhere in the game, and even if the problems can be circumvented without too much trouble, many gamers won't know that there's even a barrier to communication beyond everyone apparently being antisocial, and many of the remnants from that won't want to bother with it all, so the community size will fall. Consequently, producing further content will become less and less useful from a cost/profit analysis, and we'll see less content than we might have if Bungie had made better design decisions. A decent chunk of this game has been spent with my brother and a series of strangers. I'm not THAT lonely in the game. I just think that having no real possibility for a general Destiny community (as opposed to isolated groups organized on forums) due to communication issues will decrease the lifespan of the game.

  • Ya I agree with you that they could have made the whole process of inviting someone to your fireteam more intuitive or at least explained it more. Would be nice if you could simply hold a button or combination of buttons (kinda like you deploy your ghost) when you approach a random player and if they accept the prompt you could engage in chat. I think that could easily be implemented and would be a good compromise between completely open chat and group chat

This is a GREAT idea! X/A or O/B are totally open for when you have your Ghost out
