Having seen a good portion of the VoG, I can see why Bungie disabled matchmaking, You NEED teamworfk to beat it. No ifs, and or buts. However I STILL think it stupid.

I think this would mostly be a non-issue if the game had some tools to aid in building groups that you could work with. Currently, you're just expected to have a bunch of friends above level 26 with similar schedules to you. It's weird.

Well then maybe the content should be nerfed. In all fairness for today's gaming community, who the hell has 6 friends on at one time playing the same game? It worked in WoW because you could communicate in-game....I'm talking pre-mm. In all fairness, I'm sure people can learn the mechanics and over a period of time people will know exactly what to do. Sure it'll be hard to start but the option should still be available.

Erm, loads of people. Its not uncommon to see a team of 6+ running in CoD for example. Hell I've been part of a group that was too big even for Ground War so we resorted to private match lulz.

Yes but it's easy to group and communicate in CoD. In destiny I can dance, point and wave.

You think most full 6's are random groups put together on the fly?! LOL I think you need to go and look at how common gaming clans have become. Events and rewards expressly for organised groups arent exactly new to gaming. And really, is it such a shock that a game which has harped on endlessly about being social has facets which REQUIRE you to get organised into a group of people? OK then...

Also destiny has minimal social aspect, not everyone has smart phones either :D anyway, I'm off to sleep to forget about this MM talk and move on.

I don't care, I've joined a clan. By the way, there are mmos out there with successful match making. People can argue the point but not everyone has 6 friends. I'm an older gamer and typically don't mix well with the teens and squeakers. Also being new to xb1, a lot of my older "friends" were left behind. Either way, I found a clan and made a solution for myself. Doesn't mean other people won't miss out on content.

Judging by what I've seen, many folk feel the MM ruined the experience...

It ruined the social aspect yes, but before it had MM you were able to advertise a raid in general chat where as destiny you can't without 3rd party resources. Even an in game channel on destiny could work, most if not all consoles work with keyboards.

Yep that I wont argue with. A bulletin board or something at the tower would be a good addition to the game, and a boon to many.
